Returned new a 5900X and B550 pro board. Mostly I wasn't sure it had 2.5 g lan based on the box description of the feature. My friend said if I wasn't sure the build would be what I wanted, to just pull the plug and build another later. (I could have used my spare addon card and a couple pcie lanes to fix but w/e). I might in the future do a 7900X or 7800X3D build or low end. It was kind of depressing but a lesson learned, if the features on the product page don't match the board's advertisement, than I think it's okay to abort the build. I'm back gaming on the 9600k 3060 2020 build, which is okay for now.

Hi Jason, Thanks for all your valuable input for pc builds! I've just recently completed my build I started off with ryzen 7000 cpu and paired it with a Gigabyte Gaming X AX mobo, saved a hundred nzd using stock cpu cooler (prism keeping it at 65°C while on load) will look forward for a deepcool tower cooler later on in the year, I've paired the cpu with ddr5 6000mpts 32gb(2x16) ram (cos it was on sale), reused my old phanteks enthoo pro case and fans + hub and 2tb ssd, 2tb nvme, 2tb hdd(lol, cos it still works). I bought a new samsung 4k 165hz monitor (again on sale and lgC1&2 too big, aw oled too expensive, also wqhd not to my liking) I queried earlier for gpu options and you replied anything above 7900xt so I went ahead and purchased an Asus Tuf 7900xtx. (Case required a teeny bit of diy modding 😆) Thanks again for all your vids and tips. Very much appreciated. Now I'm able to play all my fav games without the screen tearing and low graphics settings from my tired old gtx1080ti. Next week my daughter and I will be building her first pc (90% of the pc will be used parts from my old rig), I've already bought a cheap pc case for her too.

@@PCBuilderChannelThanks! A lot has changed in 10 years (originally had a GTX 760 when I built it) and UK pricing is a little painful! Some Additional Info regarding PCI-E Slots: You said that they vary in size depending on the number of lanes which is basically correct but the reality is that most PCI-E x8 slots come with a x16 form factor which is missing the rear half of the pins so you can plug in x16 devices and use them with half the connectivity (not a big deal for performance on most devices like gpus for example)

I’m here to apologize I watched way to many videos either to confirm my I thoughts or get advice and notices I hadn’t subscribed. Thank you for your videos and please keep it. It helps plenty even for someone like me who is pretty aware of the current tech out.❤

In the middle of upgrading my old PC only to discover 90% of all the parts, case, and even PSU are completely obsolete. I am aiming for a medium to slightly high end gaming PC and I literally ended up building an all new PC like a first timer PC gamer. Even the Thermaltake CTE-C750 case is a strange beast as it upends the motherboard and graphics card so it's I/O face up but covered deep in metal and plastic. Only thing I can cannibalize are my various SSDs, HDDS and 8 year old Nvidia GTX1080 graphic card. The PCs without the graphics card is taking a month longer to build as I scramble and shop for new parts I am not familiar with. It's a fun new journey.

It can be a lot I know! Best wishes on the journey!

Hello can I replace my 1080gp with a 4090gpu on my current ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO with a I7-4790 @4ghz until I buy a new motherboard etc. I know it will bottleneck somewhat but will it work well enough.
@kelley09162 Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure it will because that's a huge bottleneck but hopefully somebody with more knowledge then me responds.
@PCBuilderChannel Жыл бұрын
You can, but I strongly recommend against it. That CPU will be bottlenecked to within an inch of its life. Instead of spending $1600 on the 4090, take that money and just build yourself a new pc. There are fantastic builds at that price point that will be a huge boost from what you have. See our "builds and parts list" linked in the description for great sample builds

@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks for the info. I've ordered a Crystal VR headset to use with MSFS2020, but didn't want to immediately spend 5000 plus on a new system to run it. I thought I would buy the gpu first, then upgrade the motherboard etc later.

Jason, for the $ what would be better, updating to z790 MB and DDR5 for an i5 12-600k or upgrading to an i7 13gen for use with a z690 MB and 32gb DDR4 memory?
@rogued3mon414 Жыл бұрын
How about i5 13th gen, with a Z690 with bios flashback and DDr4.
@GaryDePriest Жыл бұрын
Looking for a $ to $ spend comparable. A 13th gen i7 is comparable to the cheapest z7 MB & DDR5 combo.

Would a regular 5600x be a bad idea for a regular 4070 any opinion guys?
@rogued3mon414 Жыл бұрын
It's a good combo and not a bad idea at all. But there are better GPU alternatives put there except if you want an NVIDIA GPU.

Funny thing - I saw that in post (that is why I put an * in front of B760) and went back and looked at the script and it was correctly B760. LOL! That is how confusing these naming schemes are!

Sir i am going to buy thr Lenovo legion slim 7i 12700h 3060 . Tomorrow. What do you think how will it perform from your perspective
@PCBuilderChannel Жыл бұрын
Good thin and light. Remember it has a lower TGP due to being a thin and light. Lenovo lists it at 100W so that should give you pretty good performance.
@Romash. Жыл бұрын
@@PCBuilderChannel yes i wathed reviews it performed quite good in cou performances but little 10% mayvbe lower than 140w 3060. Thabks sir

Hey Jay, loved the video, but as someone who's not in the US I was wondering if you could show different prices for other countries. It would make it allot easier to follow, thanks.
@PCBuilderChannel Жыл бұрын
Hello! Gosh I wish but there's a lot of countries so I think it would be super overwhelming. We do occasionally do specific international themed videos but haven't in a while. I'll keep looking for opportunities to do them. Glad you are enjoying the content!

one question: does nzxt kraken x53 good for intel core i5 13600k? or should I get the x73?
@rogued3mon414 Жыл бұрын
240mm is good for a 13600k and its enough. You may go for the new and upgraded NZXT aios.
@PCBuilderChannel Жыл бұрын
240 is fine, but you can get the X73 if you want the build super quiet.
