PCT #64 Tuolumne

Walking through Yosemite’s Tuolumne Meadows is an experience I’ve been looking forward to for years. Now it’s my time to follow my hero John Muir and explore the meadows and mountains beyond. By the end of the day, the park is behind me and the Ansel Adams Wilderness stretches out ahead.

You finally arrived to where it's at. I've been coming back to the HIgh Sierra JMT corridor for 35 years. Crown jewel of the PCT. Some places you traveled through come close, but this is mile by mile just an epic place.

I skied that route in 1987, recorded a temp of -25 f at the location where you looked up at Donahue pass. (12:57) Also ran from Tuolumne Campground to Devils Postpile a year or 2 later. Ive always loved that area.

You are so right about those 'open spaces'. The Ken Burns' documentaries about the National Parks and The Buffalo really hone in on humanity's early folly with land and wildlife. So many Americans don't get to see these places.
