I use a foam roller, I am a senior citizen. I am finding that you do need 'upper' body strength to use a foam roller. And find it uncomfortable (frame 4:28 >) if you have any back or shoulder issues. I have been using my foam roller for restless leg syndrome, all sides of my thighs. Thank you for sharing.

You're welcome. It is a little tough and rough on the body. Good luck!

As a physiotherapist do you find that you have the energy to be physically active (sports, working out etc) outside of work after a day of working with clients? i heard that PT is physically demanding, but to what extent exactly? hope to here from you Dr. Jo

I still work out every day, and play soccer once a week. In the beginning, it is really tiring, but your body adapts to it, just like when you are starting a work out program for the first time. It also depends on what setting you are in (outpatient, rehab, acute care in hospital). Some are more physically demanding than others. Good luck!

Hi doctor jo huge fan . Is there a big difference in vibration foam rollers. An there's trainers that say don't foam roll your lower back an other that say to . Can you verify which you think is correct thank you

Thanks. I think vibration foam rollers do help, but it really depends on what you are using them for. Same with foam rolling your back. You really need to know what is going on with your back before doing it, so you don't risk making certain injuries worse.
