Peacock Mantis Shrimp Slow Motion Punch (240fps)

For this video I wanted to concentrate on the awesome striking power of Bruce's devastating one inch punch. I managed to capture most of this footage at 240 frames per second but had to sacrifice video quality as my phone (what I shoot all these videos on) will only shoot 240fps at 720p. Still I hope the sacrifice was worth it as there are some cracking shots ;-)

i have a peacock mantis named tyson but the people at the store actually cut off his punchers and its going to take a month to grow back and even then I don't think he will know how to use it.

Unfortunately it's fairly common, I wouldn't worry they should grow back in a couple of moults, they won't forget what their for😁

This might be a stupid question but how do you do water changes with Bruce? I’m afraid that’s it going to try to punch my airline tubing when I get my peacock mantis shrimp

When I perform a water change I do it from the sump so I do not have to take water from the main display. The only thing Bruce attacks regularly is my magnetic glass cleaner but only when it gets close to the entrance of his cave.

It's something I worried about a lot before I got Bruce but in the 2.5 years I've owned him I can't think of him ever striking the glass (although he does go for the glass cleaner from time to time)
