This 3part trilogy from Ren hit home for me. It is hard to watch every time. I can tell you that my Daddy raised me to be an extremely strong & independent woman. Despite the circumstances I had as a child when he was deployed. I felt that I would be that strong female once in the real world on my own. Sadly I faced very severe situations once on my own; it was brutal for a bit. My Daddy was not aware for some time. It took years & lots of therapy before I was able to tell him. He was devastated that & felt he failed me. Please understand that once in certain situations you/we as the parents can only do so much. Calling your Dad, Daddy tells me you are still really struggling to be an adult, I mean no disrespect in any way, shape or form by saying this. Typically very young children refer to their father as "daddy" or ridiculously spoilt dependent on their parents and the promised trust funds type adults. But heartbreakingly severely traumatic childhoods, tend to keep that immature connection to father figures throughout adulthood by still saying "Daddy" It really freaks me out hearing adult women, call their fathers "Daddy" for that specific reason I mentioned lastly. "Daddy" is like other terms used to describe relationship varying a great deal by culture. To assume that someone using the word daddy is of the same culture as you perhaps says more about a limited understanding of cultural diversity than it does about the original commenter's use of the word. When I moved from one region of the country where only young children referred to their parents as mommy and daddy to another region where mature adults continue to use those words in speaking to and of their parents, it was quite a culture shock to me. It saddens me to know that variations of stories like those in the Tales are far too common having direct knowledge of quite a lot of them during my life including my own personal story. Parents cannot protect their children from all the risks of living life. Yet it is these stories that make life interesting regardless of how we may judge them. Where does such amazing art and reactions to it come from? Would we have it in a mundane existence? Authentic reactions are my favorites. Thank you both for your willingness to put yourselves out there like that.

Please ignore negative comments. People think they can tell so much about you simply because you call your father Daddy. My brother and sister and I are in our 40s and we've always called our dad Daddy. In our case, it's because we're a very close family and that word is a sign of endearment and respect for the father who raised us alone when we lost our mother (she was killed by a drunk driver when we were 10, 11, and 14). It's perfectly OK to call your dad Daddy, no matter what age you are. I don't know you, but I'm very proud of you for overcoming such horrific circumstances. And I'm sure your Daddy is so incredibly proud of you too.

This was excellent! I felt so bad for Becca when she was so nervous at first and almost didn’t want to say what she thought happened to Jenny even though she got it. But luckily she seemed to relax as it went on and gained more confidence in her interpretations. And clearly she got it. Also she might worry about not showing “enough” emotion when concentrating, but it was clear as day how she felt when hearing about Violet’s childhood and everything she went through. Hope you bring her back for more Renactions! Oh and of course congratulations to both of you.

One of the things that most people miss: The same way he “Rewound the hands of time”, While he was on the hospital bed. He forwarded the hands of time right after “Not one word, she stays silent” Taking us to the scene at the hospital. Don't be afraid to stop the video. Don't be afraid to go back. That's why i watch reaction channels. It's no fun if stuff goes over your head. It's ok if you don't catch everything the first time. I've heard all Ren's songs and am still oucking up on things I missed. I'd rather you be sure you're understanding than to jist blast through the whole song and be overwhelmed by the end of it. That's also why I really like this dynamic of someone who's seen it already showing someone else. You can make sure they understand anything they may miss or be confused about. Your reactions are great and I love watching them. Just want to give you some encouragement that it's ok to stop often and go back 10 or even 30 seconds or more. Two notes: 1 it’s actually pretty adorable to see how locked your head is at a 90 degree nearly the whole time. IMHO the Tale of Jenny and Screech is a Three Act Shakespearian Tragedy, in the style of the wondering minstrel bard. Ren has self identified his music as bard core, so that is confirmed. This is an ancient style of music; that goes right back through the wondering minstrel bards of the middle ages. The works of Chaucer sung in the Wife of Bath's ale house. And back to the Dark Ages of Anglo Saxon epic poetry of Beowulf, on through the Greek Homeric tales of The Iliad and The Odyssey and the beginning of the Choir. This form of story telling probably goes all the way back to Ugg twanging his Bow to woo the Chiefs Daughter or complain about the Chief stealing the meat from his hunt, at the hut of the Widow Ale Wife, where he and others would congregate to let off steam and tell tales of epic hunts; to then draw on the local cave walls, like the graffiti in The Tales. The music acted in part as interlude/intro as well as melodic emphasis and sound effects for the story. Also I think you spotted Ren's use of locational reverb in the sound engineering. They also got lucky with the Seagulls in part of the song which then was deliberately left in and emphasized in the mix. All of that indicates the intellectual level of the performance production in this piece of art.

So if you don't listen to them in order or miss one than the final outcome is not so obvious. Ren does have a live street performance where he does all 3, in order. I believe that's when I first heard this trilogy. Ren's guitar playing and musicality is out of this world. I would love it if he put out a guitar instrumental. Well have to see if his new album includes one. Fingers crossed. Wouldn't hate a piano one either.... ❤❤❤
