That's amazing~ I am so happy for you both!! My mom was adopted and really lucked out with being adopted by my grandparents~ they were fantastic parents and they adored her. My grandfather gave her her biological mother's info when she was still a teen, but my mom never had a desire to connect with her~ she always felt that she ended up with exactly the parents God wanted her to, and she was 100% satisfied with His choice. My mom passed away a year ago tomorrow at age 91. She gave my sisters and I her "bio" info in case we ever wanted to explore that, but we feel the same way she did. I believe when we get to Heaven we'll be able to make those connections. I wish you all the best and pray it continues to be transformative for both you, and your daughter~ God Bless 🙏

This was a great song that has withstood the test of time. I was almost 40 when this came out and was impressed at the time that this young guy spoke so much truth. I am 62 now, and every word is still relevant in our society. It was the same when I was 20, and when I was born. Only now, with news and images at our fingertips, do we think these issues are new. It is just a continuous stream of history repeating itself, except the distance between the "haves" and the "have nots" grows more disproportionately.

The end of the video is so incredibly genius to me, but nobody ever comments on it. That family sitting in their little glass house just oblivious to all the issues (probably while being judgmental) while everyone else is on the outside looking in on them (wondering what THAT must be like also) I just love how thought provoking and real it is. One of the most underrated bands of the 90s/00s in my opinion.

I honestly never noticed that part. I’d known the song long before the video, and never really played close attention to the video. I think the ending is so poignant, yet rarely talked about. The seemingly perfect, happy family oblivious to the struggles around them. But also, behind glass, like a museum display, rare and untouchable, but longed for by the crowd outside. He has some excellent songs.

There you go, brother. This whole album is an underrated classic.10 outta 10 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Ends is probably the next big track, but the capper for me, is Death Comes Callin'. 2 Things: Saw him on this tour , in the Rave basement playing with a full band. Top 10 show all time Ive seen. Id say it gets the "alternative" tag from the whole album, its pretty diverse. But the hip hop in this song is from the beat & his vocal delivery, and Id agree that its far more bluesy than folky.✌🏼

Everlast is a true renaissance man. He could probably read the phone book out loud and rock that shit.

The album is titled “Whitey Ford sings the Blues”. I’m surprised blues didn’t show up as a genre for this music.

As a kid this song made me think and was heavy. As an adult who has been through some shite and seen people around me go through even worse, this song hits HARD.
