Come work for us.. you’ll see it once a month or at least hear about it. We’re a 24/7 service station in a really bad druggy area. If you want to disrespect us, we will push you out the door physically. We are sick of the shit and we have our bosses support so it happens quite often lol I’m not very strong so I just lock myself behind the glass and get security to deal with them but we have a few people working for us that enjoy fighting so they’re always looking for the next rude/crazy person to tussle with 😂

@baad lyrics There's what the other guy said, but sometimes there's just someone who's lazy. That kind of work is labor intensive and stressful, so when there gets to be a large number of customers especially during what is usually quiet hours, some employees resent the people who come in and make them work more. I've seen it, I've tried to avoid it.

I worked at Dominos a few years back, on one delivery a customer called back the store and insisted his order was wrong and he wanted wings as well, after arguing over the phone with the manager for a few minutes he says he’s gonna come to the store and fight the manager. 30 minutes later the guy actually comes, and he tries to fight the manager, someone ended up calling the cops and the guy went to jail. So he spent the night in jail over some chicken wings. Ridiculous

I was at a restaurant in Spain about 15 years ago, and a British couple were in there. They ordered a lavish meal, ate the entire meal then decided they didn't want to pay because it "Wasn't very good". Long story short, the manager of the restaurant ended up punching this man, the Police turned up and told them to pay or they would be arrested. I've always felt that was the best outcome of that situation.

You get PAID money to spend time at someone else's store, and if you're loss prevention, you get paid to lay hands on people, but you still want to complain? Corporate allows employees to deny service...at a store you don't even own. Maybe show some gratitude. I like how people complain about working in retail but just by working there you have the power to trespass the entire town from your store all because you work there. The fact that corporate LETS you have so much leeway (when they don't have to) shows how much they care about their employees. They don't HAVE to give you the right to deny service you know, especially since it's not even your store. But they still do since they look out for you

This made me remember the news story of the man who was shocked that he got arrested because he pulled a gun on a fast food employee because they didn't give him sauce with his food. It's been patched up but it's a temporary fix until they can apply a complete overhaul repair (it's absolutely needed, foundations were destroyed). Might as well toss this in as well: the food there is pretty great. The chicken is delicious and very reasonably priced. It's a real bang for your buck kind of deal. Good sides too, a wide variety of different menu items including desserts. Go spend a dime there when you can and help them out if you're in the area.

@Courage the conservative dog One time we ordered two bacon double cheese burgers, they made them singles, so we went back in to have that fixed and were polite because stuff happens lol even though they acted like they were really upset we complained/inconvenienced them (they also smashed our food for this). Then we realized they didnt put on the bacon this time lol so had to go back in again and they were just pissed went in the back threw bacon in a tub and tossed the tub on the counter at my mom without ever saying a word then walked away. XD there was also like 3 times at least that I ordered a quarter pounder with cheese deluxe add mayo (using the app! lol) and they put nothing but mayo in it (and a ton of it too!), literally bun, meat, cheese, ton of mayo. they got pissy about that every time too like we fucked it up!!!! I work at a Starbucks, and people literally go nuts over it. We didn’t realize our pot coffee warmer was broken, so the coffee we served a customer was slightly below scalding hot. We couldn’t refund her her $2 because our manager wasn’t there (we needed her approval first) but we offered to brew a new pot and give her a larger size and a cake pop free of charge (already over double what she paid initially). No, she decided it would be appropriate to throw the coffee at me and my coworkers. Now it wasn’t 3rd degree burn levels of hot, but it was still pretty hot. Luckily didn’t burn us badly, but getting covered in hot coffee does not feel good lmao

My girlfriend ran a Dairy Queen for about 7 years.. it really opens your eyes to how many crazies are out there. Someone pulled a gun on an employee because they thought their blizzard wasn't getting made fast enough. Someone jumped through the window because they wanted a cup of ranch and didn't want to wait. Someone walked behind the counter to threaten an employee with violence and a lawsuit because their food cooled off while they were smoking meth in the bathroom. Someone threw a shake at an employee after calling her a stupid bitch for not asking the customer if they needed a bag, even though they only had a single sundae. I don't understand how people's brains get like this. I mean, the biggest issue I hear about is people not knowing how to function like a normal person when there's an issue with their order. Normal person experience: Oh, they forgot my fries. I'll politely let them know and they'll fix it for me pain free. Actual real woman with brain worms: Oh, there's mayo on my sandwich, but I said no mayo. I'm going to burst through the doors, screaming and crying hysterically, before throwing the bag of food at an employee and getting banned from the restaurant.

Especially entitled customers. They think they can get away with anything, like asking for a refund after eating the whole pizza, or demanding free samples of every flavor of ice cream, or throwing a tantrum when they don't get their way. They are so spoiled and rude that they don't realize how ridiculous they look. They need a reality check, or better yet, a slap in the face.

Used to work at Whataburger for a while. The level of entitlement and stupidity some people display was baffling to me. I had a guy freak out and throw his change at the checkout drive-through window because he was 2 cents short to get more ranch. TWO CENTS. I've been insulted and once a girl and her mom started filming me for some tiktok trend. Aside from, y'know, keeping in mind we're not corporate and are doing the jobs we were given to the best of our abilities considering how short-staffed we were, it's incredible how people lack so much self-awareness that they act like a spoiled toddler throwing a tantrum. Only thing that kept me going throughout those days was when people were kind and understanding. You can ask for things to be redone or say something's wrong. You just don't have to be an asshole abt it

That's what happens when you work in the service industry. You are literally a servant to those people. They don't lack self-awareness either. They know exactly what they're doing. It's just that our society doesn't punish their behavior, and to an extent even glorifies it.

I work at Applebees and one of the realizations I began having in my first year is that the corporate companies that own these food chains basically encourage customers to act out against the employees like this (maybe not to this extent, but it’s not like they care how far a customer will take it) The whole “blame us” philosophy that service rules are built around is designed to blame employees for any failures, and therefore are to blame by the customers rather than any issue larger than that. It’s basically prioritizing the need to avoid a bad review over employee safety.
