I remember a moment in an interview with all five members of Pentatonix. They were asked who is the best singer. All four immediately pointed to Mitch.

They are all modest. Especially since she has done Broadway and had some classical training, Kirstin has also grown leaps and bounds. She has many singing voices. One for each different song. And of course Scott is always wonderful. They have all grown in their singing over the years. They keep getting better and better !

Well..The best singer was actually Avi truth be told. -The most versatile singer is easily Scott. -The most grotesquely underrated singer is far and away Kirstie. -The most popular/iconic voice is obviously Mitch, no question. -LOL Kevin would've been successful with or without ptx & is the flat out best musician & it's not even close.

Even though not featured, I believe this is one of Kirstie's best performances. Those piercing belts are outstanding. Mitch is the eighth wonder of the modern world, and the best part of that is he never seems to be straining. He always has a ho-hum look about him that says just another day at the office.

I like to watch vocal coaches and musicians reacting to this video because they recognize how truly stunning Mitch's vocals are. A lot of reactors who don't have backgrounds in music seem to be like, "Oh, yeah, Mitch is singing high again, but wow, Scott is singing in a different language!" They don't understand how rare and unique Mitch's range and control are. I do think it's impressive that Scott sings in Italian, but I think Scott's tone is even more impressive than learning lyrics in a different language and the blend of his voice with Mitch's is insanely beautiful. I love the fact that all five members, instead of sitting back and enjoying the success they've achieved, are constantly working to build their skills, become even more incredible, display even more confidence, and continue to be creative in the arrangements of their songs so that we are always surprised and delighted.

Exactly. I'm drawn to teachers reactions to Pentatonix as well.🎼💪🙏🏾🎵
@Rosannasfriend3 жыл бұрын
A lot of people here are complaining about this, but usually in most Pentatonix reactions it is the opposite. They say something very quick about Scott or the other singers, and then move right onto how amazing and perfect Mitch is. All the fans in the comment section focus on Mitch, but most of the reaction teachers I see are focused on Mitch. So this complaint sounds very strange to me. So I’m pretty sure Mitch can handle this happening just once in his life, lol.

@@Rosannasfriend I agree, normally Kirsten is completely overlooked in reaction videos and they fawn over Mitch, Avi/Matt or Kevin with perhaps an honorable mention of Scot in passing.
@heinleinreader Жыл бұрын
I am still convinced that not only does Mitch have the capacity to play in the altos, but I believe he could hit it in coloratura soprano if he wanted. Also, Kirstie's belting is legend, but her whistle notes are something special as well. I love the way the two of them are playing at dueling sopranos for a bit there. I have no problem using the so-called female register names as applied to a guy, as that is just where Mitch tends to live. He is far more countertenor than tenor. Kevin is a tenor, Mitch is a countertenor.
@Wyndigayle3 жыл бұрын
It always blows me away how effortless Mitch makes his performances feel. He doesn't seem to EVER strain for anything, whether the lower or upper end of his range. He also very rarely appears to enter a falsetto (please correct me if I'm wrong). What some may mistake as a falsetto from Mitch seems more likely to be a very airy head voice. And Scott...oh my gosh! This is the richest I've ever heard his tone. While he's at the middle or bottom of his baritone range during the Italian section...LOVE it! This is also my favorite performance by Kirstie. Those high belts are just amazing and so controlled. I believe it's the last line of hers and Mitch's back and forth where Mitch comes in and matches pitch instantly with Kirstie, on a pretty high note...stunning! Over all, I think this is one of the best performances I've heard them do as a group, and that's saying a LOT. Of course we can't forget Matt and Kevin. Though they might not have stood out here, they were present and helped to round out the entire piece; which is what they were supposed to do in this arrangement. Love the reaction. :)

I studied music for years and you articulated what i hadn't been able to put into words about Mitch's performance in this piece. It was beautiful to watch as you recognized each nuance. I also think Kirstin doesn't get enough credit for her brief duos with both Scott and Mitch. Of course, the percussion and bass lines of Kevin and Matt are amazing, but there's something so magical about how those three distinct voices blend so well. Anyway, thanks for a really astute reaction. You're a gifted listener. ❤️

I have a friend like Mitch, I was doing solo and ensemble for choir and this new kid comes in to a practice room with 2 girls and 2 guys and they start singing and the new kid was hitting baritone to soprano. I was bass 2 to soprano 2 and he had just as much range. Best friends doing absurd music every day for 2 years. We even grabbed our instruments with some other band friends and just did stuff for the talent shows. Favorite memories were me doing my way with a whole band behind me, and then we did run DMC and Aerosmith walk this way the next year. It was so much fun, too bad I'm vocal cords got messed up from a car wreck. Can still sing but range is gone, only have 3 octaves now, all scarred up. Great channel and content

Mitch and Scott's alternating verse always gives me chills. The two of them actually put out an album a few years back, and almost every song was just them both singing the melody in sync an octave apart, which to me was a HUGE missed opportunity since they're both such skilled vocalists. Of course everything they do is great but I was hoping for a bit more from that solo project.

I loved the Superfruit album to be honest, and a lot of the tracks are still really technically demanding even if they aren't as showy- realized that when I was trying to sing Imaginary Parties a while back; it's got a lot of really quick, precise runs, and a section where they consistently flip back and forth between one note and another about five notes lower. Some of the songs are a bit more simple, sure, but they were making a pop album, and that usually means you want people to be able to sing along lmao
