@@gracemunich1476 They did show empathy though. They gave them a full refund and even offered them 500 dollars (if I'm remembering right) credit on their next food order. They could have just not returned anything and been jerks about it but they didn't. I agree they should have called but maybe the person who was driving didn't tell them about it right away since they said they came back and got back to the restaurant around 5...still should have called right at 5 to let them know, that they would be late and to inform them of what was going on but they had empathy.

That was my first thought. Other than being unprofessional, it’s just plain common sense; if there’s a job to be done and an individual is unsure of something, there should be a line of communication to ask. That’s like traveling to Europe for vacation and because there’s an issue with locating the hotel🏢, the party leave and come back to the states. 🛩✈️CRAZY 🥴and UNACCEPTABLE❌🚫!! It sounded like a bunch of excuses. They all should have agreed on a specific time that the caterer should arrive at the venue with the food. Since the venue is an hour away, the caterer should've left at least two hours in advance. Why didn't they contact the plaintiffs immediately when their car broke down? Probably because it was an excuse. They didn't have any food prepared that they could bring, or the caterer just didn't wanna do it.

We had the ceremony downstairs and the reception upstairs with huge fans blowing everywhere. Their elevator also wasn't working... my matron of honor has MS and was wheelchair dependent. We had to leave her chair downstairs, and have her carried around upstairs, fortifying a chair from the venue's lobby with table dressings so she could sit somewhat comfortably. She insisted in not missing the reception. Fortunately, everything else that day went fine... the guests were amazing making the best of it all. And the venue did credit the facility rental fee and discounted the catering right off the bat. It was a tricky day to get through for me, but it's a great story to tell!

Exactly that’s what I don’t get, that was such an easy issue to fix (transportation), like I don’t get that at all, how could she not have the common sense to call an Uber, call someone in the organization, call a friend to take them. Absolutely unacceptable

Come now!! they were together 17 years before they married and have a 12-year-old son, so having chicken couldn't be all that bad !! They lived as though they were married I am sure they have weathered some storms, so this should have been easy to handle!!!?

Great warning about electric cars...MAKE SURE THEY ARE FULLY CHARGED. Unfortunately, I have a feeling we will hear many more of these stories because we are all going to be forced to buy electric. Second, I like the way this ended. The caterers were not rude and understood the reasoning behind the judge's verdict.

This happens with regular cars too. It's just called running out of gas lol

Yeah I was looking for something like this why would u own an electric car without making sure it is charged or they have charging stations around

That’s why the person PREPARES and make sure they have a fully functioning vehicle, a driver, and food prepared in time to get to the event on time. Nothing mystical about this. They were Ill- prepared and disorganized. Disgustingly bad business.

Actually it’s not that hard to have a fully charged electric car and I hate to break it to you but gas cars can run out of gas. 🤦🏽♀️ believe me it’s happened to me too many times.

That is basic info that anyone providing a service needs to know, especially for an event.... When do we need to have everything set up? These caterers are inept with their excuses. Best wish to a long happy life for this couple. They are so sweet.

They couldn’t have called an Uber or a friend to take them the rest of the way? Makes no sense

My uncle has a restaurant. I worked there when I was young. When people asked about catering. As an employee there. We had to know the Date, time and what they needed. Because we need to order the meat and vegetables separately just for that order. We needed to know the Date obviously to see if we can on that date and call in more employees to help with that order. The time so we can leave and get there 15 minutes ahead of time. Because we don't know how bad traffic will be that day.

How the caterer even ended up in court is crazy to me. They should have gave their money back and then offered a fully catered event as well.
