If the sis/brother in law give him an easy way to make things right with their relationship, which I think they will, he will be able to swallow a little pride and make his way back into good graces with them. At least I hope he matures and makes everything right because they are making it about as easy as possible for him to do the right thing and feel good about it at the same time.

So I'm super happy about his sobriety.. but I worry that he is dry..not in recovery.. because he isn't accepting the things he has done.. for those in a 12 step program..he hasn't done anything about his 4th or 9th step.. those are about making a moral inventory and making amends. Maybe he isn't on the cusp of relapse.. but he is still stuck in the addict mindset. Taking advantage, manipulation of people and selfish behavior..

It unfortunately takes years to get real progress. Him being in a relationship with someone going through the same issues is a whole other complication. If he had someone in his life to talk some sense into him like how his brother-in-law gave some support to his sister by softening his actions a bit so she'd have an easier time dealing with it. Just from this having to go to court makes it look like the woman he's with just isn't the right person to be with while in recovery.

Alexis Black agree! Never give money you do not have! I have learned to give money only if I do not expect it back. We loaned son money down on a house, if it comes back great, if not, no big deal. We loaned oldest daughter money to buy her first house, she gave it back but no interest. When I offer money to people down on their luck I believe it is just gone. We did not borrow from any relatives in our lifetime. We always assumed we would sink or swim on our own doing

I honestly feel like the brother probably loves his sister, but he doesn't respect her. He may be jealous of how good her life may seem to him and not paying her back is his way of secretly "getting back" at her for outdoing him in life. All the while, he made the choices that landed him where he is. No need to be jealous when the person is literally trying to help you. DAYUM! Insecurity and envy manifest in the most interesting ways.

Well analyzed! He’ll probably say “if you so good then why do you need my money to pay you back”. I have a sibling like that
@PuffinPsychologist4 жыл бұрын
It could be that. Or it could be that he’s still just a FUNCTIONING ADDICT and even with a job and his appearance of doing better he doesn’t have the money because he’s still entangled with addiction. I myself have been a functioning addict and have seen many. It can come in forms where they keep their addiction completely secret or they act like they’re clean and hold down a job or whatever all the while they’re actually strung out. He physically appears to be under the influence TO ME... so I think maybe he’s still an addict and that money that was loaned has been long gone... and he doesn’t have the money from working because every penny spent goes towards what he needs, including his fix. JUST MY OPINION.

Bottom line here: Everybody here on both sides have a very beautiful heart. No ill feelings towards anybody. I personally would not have taken it this far. I would not have taken my brother/sister to court. I'd rather take a lost. I don't care what the amount is, I'd rather just take a lost.

The plaintiffs are obviously very good people. So much better than a lot of people we’ve seen watching this show. I wish all of them the best in life!

They love each other it’s very obvious, the sister and her husband omg they just make me wanna change the way I talk and treat ppl lol they are beautiful souls. I’m glad the brother is staying clean, I hope if she loans him money again which I’m sure she will hopefully they won’t have to end up back in court again.

Judge Milian,,, it is just wonderful as I am sitting here thinking if I was you I would make them hug each other , and then you did and it literally brought tears to my eyes. You remind me a lot like me and that's why I like your show so much.... honest, tough and plenty of heart You are the best !
