I'm 22 and I've never brushed my teeth as often as I should. I just always assumed I was lazy lol. But I learned from one of your videos to soften the bristles with warm water. So much better!! I still don’t brush as often as I should, since I've gotten into the habit of not brushing my teeth, but now I'm more willing to do so. Thank you so much for making these videos!!

I hope you all are doing great I love your channel I also have a diagnosis of autism. I am classified as level 2 with high functioning autism, I got diagnosed when I was 4 and I am very sensitive to certain noises like air vents in public restrooms if I hear it or feel the air it feels like I am in a living nightmare my mom used to have to hold my ears when I was in the restroom luckily now since I have grown and gotten. older I can handle it a lot better than I used to you all take care.

You should have your doctor test you for mercury and aluminum toxicity. I was also diagnosed with autism and they did not do this at the time. I had my doctor test me for mercury and they found that I had a high amount in my blood from the yearly flu shot for 20 + years. I have been doing urine therapy for over a year to detox and a lot of my symptoms have been disappearing. There is also aluminum and mercury in most of the shots given to kids. The symptoms of heavy metal poisoning and autism are identical. GOOD LUCK! Much Love! NAMASTE!

I have sensory issues (just like my sister does) and I have found that a toothbrush with soft bristles is more comfortable to brush with than a toothbrush with medium or hard bristles. Also it helps to get a new toothbrush at least every three months or as soon as a toothbrush starts to become too uncomfortable to use.

I just noticed that Tom’s of Maine makes a Strawberry Flavored Children’s toothpaste. I noticed that the ADA Approved one has fluoride and the other one does not. Otherwise the ingredients seem to be the same. From looking at other toothpastes on the same shelf in my pharmacy it looks like the ADA only approves Fluoride toothpastes.

I am sure you will know about it since you are a pro level autistic parent. Daughter learning in scripts and using them functionally but questioning makes her harder so conversation is difficult. Lot of autistic adults are following your channel as well so if you guys can tell me what’s the future holds for GLP kids. How about speech development for Ian and Connor they are also GLPs or Analytical? thanks a lot Rob!

Well my Mom always knew that I was extremely sensitive with my teeth and it took me awhile for me to brush my teeth and even sometimes it would take me a couple days- and then my mom round this amazing brand called high smile- And it wasn't always the toothbrush it was like the sensation going into my mouth. I really hated it and even to this day I still don't like brushing my teeth but it's just what it is. And you can actually find some sensory like toothbrushes online so if any of your children need any their on a sensory site, so if any of your children have like a plan for funding where they get all of their supports then you can use some of that to cover for any sensory things that your children may need!!

To help get rid of the excess flavour after brushing your teeth, drink a cup of hot water. Make it as hot as you can drink it and it helps the taste subside quicker

Awesome. One issue I have with that brand: Their use of Neem Oil Extract. Single dosing of Neem Oil Extract can cause long-term infertility in males (it causes Spermicide), and there isn't enough research to really know the potential dangers of orally ingesting that substance at all. Health experts (yes, I know they're pharmaceutical reps like 80% of the time, but work with me here because I mention this out of concern) suggest that Neem Oil Extract should not be ingested at all (at least not until more is known about the effects/dosages). Don't mean to be a worry wart, and I don't think it's in the toothpastes so you should be all good.

Can i ask you for help. I have a hard time with brushing my teeth because the brush bothers me. I also have a hard time with the foam that makes it drewl. I love mint because it is clean my mouth and the fresh mouth. I use listerine. Can you help me if this can make a toothbrushe easier for me. Dad said recently that mint causes me the sensory issues with my toothbrushes. I been using my finger and toothpaste and listerine. Is there any help so i don't drewl, have sensory overload, and a better teeth issue. I cant ever tolerate a dentist. I need sedation and anathea. Just like when i had rhe urodynamic test i needed to be put to sleep. I hzd a lumbar punchtre and a tooth pull and many fills that the doctors each said they should of listened to dad and me because i am very sensitive.

Sorry if this is a TMI kinda question... But we've been struggling to get my son potty trained since he was at least 3/4 years old, he's 8 now, and while we've made some progress with the baby steps, and some backsliding asking the way, he's still not potty trained... What can we do? We've tried everything except tossing Cheerios in the toilet, and nothing's worked. The most we've got is him sitting on the toilet, wiping himself, and recently started having him wipe his booty as best as he can. We're desperate at this point. I don't mind slowly integrating me things for him to do on his own, but he doesn't even try to potty in the toilet anymore, it's just "no more pee! Pullup please!" His poor little tushy can't handle the rashes he gets from the pullups, though we've found vitamin e really helps to take care of the rashes. We also struggle at bath time pretty heavily, and idk what to do for him there either... it drives me nuts because I don't know how to help him understand everything will be okay, and Mommy and Daddy will be there with him the entire time, so I feel helpless. Any tips, tricks and help would be GREATLY appreciated🥺❤️ -An exhausted mama😅

You might try putting him in underwear instead of pull-ups and get a potty chair in his size. You can probably find one at a medical supply store or a store that sells camping equipment. You won’t get him completely trained this way but it’s a step in the right direction. I am guessing that he’s afraid of the toilet. He might be afraid of falling in, the sound of the toilet flushing, or both. Also he might not like peeing or pooping in the toilet sitting down because he doesn’t like it when the water splashes on him. If the potty chair idea works you could try having him poop in the potty chair and use the cheerio in the toilet idea to teach him how to pee in the toilet standing up. Then you can flush the toilet after he washes and dries his hands and leaves the room. In this fashion you can probably get him part of the way there.
@thomasschoeck9080
@thomasschoeck9080 Ай бұрын
I just had a few more ideas that you might try. Maybe initially instead of having him pee into the toilet directly you could teach him how to use a portable urinal and then he can dump it into the toilet afterward. You will need to rinse out the urinal afterward but this might be a good starting point. Also if he’s afraid of the flushing sound you might need to flush the toilet after he leaves the room. As far as pooping in the toilet is concerned you could have him squat over the toilet instead of sitting down. This might allow you to work around any fear that he might have of falling in. You may need to flush after he leaves the room if he’s afraid of the sound of the toilet flushing.

I feel like when it comes to sensory issues and hygiene, a lot of people don’t acknowledge that something is better than nothing. Perhaps it would be more hygienic to use fluoride, fancy electric toothbrushes, water flossers, etc., but sometimes you can only do what you can do. It’s not always worth stressing out yourself and the kid over a toothbrushing experience.
