As an engineer who designs form work systems, the best way to use the all thread to secure the forms is to put a piece of 1” pvc inside the form work with a “peri cone” on each end. Then slide the all thread through, bolt it, pour your concrete, and remove the forms. Once the forms are removed, the all thread removes from the pvc, then the cone heads pop out and leave a nice recess for you to patch with concrete. Great work guys!

When you use all thread to hold those forms from spreading, cut a piece of 1/2 inch PVC the same width as the inside of the forms. Run the all thread through the PVC. After the pour, take off one nut and pull the all thread out.

When you have extra concrete left, have some sonotubes or small square forms ready to go. If the client likes to go fishing, stick a piece of j-bar in it and round the top into an eye after it hardens to make them an mooring or anchor. If they aren't square blocks can be very useful as weights, stops and work surfaces out in the garden.

In case you never looked on Google you can buy metal forms and metal clasp to hold them together with metal bolts with fly nuts on the end of them so that you can put them together and take them apart with ease in any case I hope with those bores that you plan on taking some kind of oil or grease and do the inside of the boards so you don't pull away at the concrete or make it crack The other thing that we see that most people do as a rookie mistake is they do not vibrate the concrete and get all the air out of it so then when they take the forms off the concrete looks very fugly with air pockets in it but in any case everything looks like it's moving along and thank you for taking us on your adventure of building this home we surely appreciate it

Coming from S. Florida your attention to level, plum and finish is amazing. They just slap them up. I wouldn’t be surprised if they used a level at all. If it’s a 8’ high wall you just cut the 2X4s and put it up paying no attention to the concrete pad variation. They just assume everything.

Next time you have to do small batch of concrete look into renting a "Mudmixer". it is a machine which you just add dry concrete and it extrudes ready mixed concrete. It will do up to 40 bags of #60 concrete per hour (90 minutes per yard). You just need water and 110V power.

@kresimircihak42592 ай бұрын
In europe people use wire to tie sides of concrete form. Inside form you twist wire until its tight, at the same time you put thin wooden pieces not to overtighten form(to keep exact width). When removing forms you just cut wire. I believe wooden inserts are left within concrete. There are different specialized systems for doing same thing with 6 or 8 mm wire but i guess thats not available overseas
