I’ve been enjoying every installment and, admittedly, a bit envious. Now with your visit to this ancient wonder has made me downright jealous😀 Amazing jib Chris. Just outstanding 👏🏻👏🏻👍🙏✌️🤙

I Love your Videos, especially the shorts! You're exactly the type of travel vlogger I was looking for. I can't believe you have so few views, it's probably the best Iran content on here in my opinion.

Thank you, really appreciate it! I’ve only been doing this for a year so really still a beginner trying to grow. I make the short form predominantly for TikTok but have been trying it here on YT as they’ve been pushing it.

One of my favourite Vlogs by Chris; very informative, and easy to digest by viewers. Ps, I cannot believe Chris just had a spoonful of pickles on its own! Clue: a small amount pickles mixed with "Dampohkt", the dry rice dish, would go down a treat.

Thank you! Seems like I may have eaten the pickles wrong, it was certainly quite a shock! I didn't go back for seconds 😂

Thank you, appreciate your support! I certainly hope to grow them as it’s a lot of fun recording what I’ve been doing for years anyway. Having only been doing the actual vlogging for a year I’m still a beginner but feel that it’s come a long way. Onwards and upwards!

Another epic stop Chris. Persepolis is on my Bucket list and tentatively scheduled for 2026 on our RTW drive. I hope we are as good as you are by then. This place looks amazing. I hope you like our geeky new channel name. We are rebranding to fit better with our mission to promote environmental and cultural preservation on our upcoming carbon-neutral UNESCO world tour. Cheers and keep up the fun. - Turtle

Thanks Turtle! Rough planning for 2026 sounds like a good idea, give it plenty of time to see what unfolds in the meantime. Totally get the new name though I kinda liked the old one myself. Are you guys travelling at the moment?
@thegallivanthropologists Жыл бұрын
@@ChrisKermis Not traveling now. It is tourist season in Florida and our jobs require our attention until we go to Finland in April. We liked the old one too, but our future sponsors thought it was more like a business name. Thanks for all your kindness and support.

@@thegallivanthropologists Can't argue with that reason for the change and certainly work gets in the way of travel sometimes! Can't wait to get away again myself for sure. Let me know if you're heading Amsterdam way in your travels and feel free to connect direct though the usual socials.

Great video Chris. Out of curiosity, excepting the protest that was ongoing at time of your travel which is a bit scary, were locals friendly and kind towards you ?
@ChrisKermis Жыл бұрын
People were extremely kind, friendly and hospitable. Of course I was cautious of where I what I filmed - keeping the camera well away from the obvious things to avoid and also ensuring not to put local people in danger for being in video in the wrong way. I kept myself informed as best as I could about what was going on where and avoided the protests completely. To get caught in the wrong place at the wrong time by the police could easily mean prison or worse.

Nah I'm cheating 🙂 I'm not Dutch, I'm English but have lived in the Netherlands for many years. I think spending most of my adult life outside of my country of birth has neutralized my accent to an extent.

Are you fine or you are high school on drugs which your nonsense just shows your stupidity which Psrsepolis has been there for long time which will be there which even IRI has preserved it which only person who tried it has been Alexander.
@kr22100 Жыл бұрын
If these "ancient wonders" were to be "destructed and replaced with shrines", after nearly half a century of the IRI governance they would have long disappeared by now. Although the Iranian government is not whiter than white they deserve credit where credit is due. Over the years they've worked very hard to preserve these sites and improve visitors' experiences. They don't always get everything right but they're not all a bunch of looneys either. The problem with sites like this, Veil Nebula, is that if you post garbage you get found out straightaway. Have a good day.

I'm studying the Persian Empire from the Bible. Bible prophecy foretold about many of the historical events before they happened. Like Alexander the Great destroying the Medo- Persian Empire. The Bible is HISTORY.

Again falsifying history and false history (Alexander syndrome) Iskandar the Macedonian (falsely called Alexander the Great) There was a general from the Medes who was the satrap of the small region of Macedonia. And with a coup d'état and with minimal conflict, they returned the government of Pars to the Medes. Iskandar and the rest of his relatives had a religious tendency called Ahl al-Sir wa Suluk (similar to what was later called Ahl Sufism in Islamic periods), which replaced Zoroastrianism at that time, and they became known as Ahl al-Sir wa Suluk and formed the government of the Seleucids. . For this reason, none of the Seleucid kings had a crown and wore a cloth similar to a turban. And you don't see a crown on any coin of the Seleucid period. Basically, the transfer of the Achaemenid government to the Seleucids was a religious transfer from Zoroastrianism to the Seleucid religion, and later from the Seleucids to the Parthians, the transfer of the previous religion to Mehrism and Mithraism, that is why most of the Parthian kings were named Mehrdad. There is a lot of talk and it does not fit in this text.
