Pet Hares Morning Exercise.

Our pet hare playing and demonstrating her acrobatic skill in the morning. We found her when she was only 78 grams. She is still quite tame although she hates my middle son with a passion. She boxes him every chance she gets to show her dominance.

Snippy lived for 4 years she always had a few medical problems and will always have a special place in ours hearts. We did everything we could to make her happy and comfortable. RIP Snippy.

That's cool! Never thought you could have a Hare as pet! They are really shy animals by nature and they are the happiest when it's dark as it's only then they get active.

Not true. I have a pet Hare and it's quite active during parts of the day and will lounge out in the open to sleep. I also have a lop ear free ranging and they often sleep within a foot of each other by choice.

@@bunwithgun1587 I've had the lop ear for 4 years. The Hare was being chased by a cat and when I yelled at the cat it froze and I picked it up when it was chip monk size back the end of July. So I've had them both together for 4 months now.

@@bunwithgun1587 most of the time. Sometimes I can't tell if they are playing or fighting. Most of the time they just find a spot to lounge out in close to each other. The Hare is faster and can go places the lop ear can't so they can get away from each other.

We got Petey as a rescue...but in the mornings, he races around the first floor and I call it the Petey 500....he is burning off the energy stores in his body...then he can sleep in the daytime, and ROCK at night.

@PogChamp! i've had rabbits that only lived 4 years but i currently have two rabbits that are 7 years old and 6 years old as of now. smaller breeds tend to live longer than the larger ones, by a lot. there might be some exceptions to that, for instance, that purebred animals tend to have more health complications due to inbreeding. in my experience dutch rabbits live the longest but i've heard of other people having bunnies for longer, but it varies on breed and health problems. also! female rabbits have a 80% chance of getting ovarian cancer so it's imperative that you get it spayed if you want it to live a long life! it's probably best to neuter your male rabbits as well but i know for female rabbits it's really important to get them fixed as soon as you can! hopefully that wasn't too long lol

Amazing. I moved to the Netherlands recently, and I have started seeing Hares up close for the first time, they're majestic, beautiful and bloody fast. I am amazed to see one binky on a bed, looks great. I would love to know more about the story of the Hare, if you have the time.

No the human is making the squeaks, which is the same sound a injured and distressed hare or rabbit would make so the hare is freaking out because it thinks there's a predator threat nearby. Not surprised it only lived 4years, it probably died of trauma

Amazing creatures, so wonderful you had a relationship with one. we see them rarely on the country road we live on (one every two years) I find the way they move (walk) across the road a little scary almost. But also think they are a real 'spirit' animal.

She just love my affection and she used to lick me in return, I used to hand feed her dandelion leaves and fruit and veg too!

This seems like a Belgian hare. Because its actually impossible to tame or domesticate a true hare. (A Belgian Hare is basically a fancy breed of a rabbit that was bred to look similar to a hare. This means that this is really just a interesting rabbit breed and its not a true hare) Edit: It seems that I was wrong. This is an actual Hare that was rescued and cared for as a baby.

That squeaking noise is similar to the noise that an injured and distressed hare or rabbit would make (and is used in some hunting lures). I think you were traumatising it.

We have mountain hares here in the Scottish highlands and they’re gorgeous. Never seen a domestic one before but she looks very happy.
