This sums his character up so perfectly. The entire Twice Upon a Time episode is a Doctor Who masterclass (one of the best episodes of all time), but his final monologue before he regenerates drives your point home. It's him, telling his next incarnation what to be and what he'd learned along the way. I watch it as a dying father writing a letter to his daughter, telling her all his hopes and dreams for her knowing he'll never get to see her grow up. And then Jodie Whittaker appears. And we're an unholy mess of sobbing and hope.

@@danielpearson7506 No it's not as that simple as that. The Doctor knows that Clara couldn't ask him to use his TARDIS to fix Danny Pink's death, because he would quite clearly say "no" because of what has happened previously (when Rose went back to see her Dad and tried to save him). He knew that she would try to do something that reckless to force his hand. He was betrayed that she simply didn't ask, but he cares for her and her happiness like all of his companions. I have friends like that in life, and those words resonated with me. Just because a friend has turned their back on me doesn't mean I will instantly turn my back on them in their time of need. I won't forgive them, or maybe I will but I won't forget. But when you are friends (sometimes the best of friends) you will always do whatever it takes to protect them. That is me to my friends. There are so many moments from Capaldi's tenure as The Doctor that are incredible. One I think which sometimes goes overlooked is his conversation with Davros. It's a full circle acceptance since the beginning of the Capaldi Doctor who was unsure if he was a good man, and it really is two estranged old almost-friends talking to one another after so much time apart. You can tell the Doctor truly cares about Davros, and strangely enough you can see that Davros does as well. And then it also outlines in a few short words the Doctor's modus operandi: "Compassion, then" "Always" "It grows strong and fierce in you, like a Cancer" "I hope so" "It will kill you, in the end" "I wouldn't die of anything else" I love that so much, and I'm glad this compilation put it in there.

With how much Jodie and Chibnal have split the Who Community, Capaldi's final scene on the battlefield was the perfect end for the fans that stopped watching. Eccleston to David, David to matt. Matt to Capaldi. Those were all obvious continues, but Capaldi's seemed so Final. (don't reply with hate to Jodie, or hate to the people who don't like Jodie. This is just me saying his final send off, was so great as a final send off. The show could of ended there, and it would of been a good ending to the show.)

it's like moffat knew that Chibnall and the ultra feminazis where coming for the show and if he announced that he was going to stay then they'd simply meetoo him and lie about hi and claim rape or some of their usual bullshit. and he knew that chibnall was gonna nose dive the show so he wanted to make his final episode one where the REAL fans could clock out and call it a day with the entire show at least until an actual showrunner comes around and boots chibnall out the studio and retcons then entire timeless child storyline out of exsistence.

Capaldi will always be my second favourite Doctor (ten has my heart and I grew up with him). Capaldi acted The Doctor so beautifully, always calm and collected with occasional breaks in emotion, he was a good man and he always knew what was right, his face was a reminder of his past and a reminder to do the right thing, he was loving and full of compassion, he was perfectly written and Capaldi gave the best acted performance of The Doctor in my opinion, he entered a mindset of acceptance rather than regret, I believe 9,10 and 12 all share a trait, they work off of one another and use their own experiences in their own respective times as ways to remind us to do one thing, be kind.
