Love the TT. Love Hicky, my wife calls him by "boyfriend" lol.. What a great ambassador for the sport. Have met him several times and he is very humble. Cadwell Park BSB 2021 he smashed it.

Interesting to hear Peter’s approach to TT, not going full bore immediately, where Dean & Michael have a fully committed approach lap 1. Good to hear Hicky was leading after three laps despite that.

That was excellent. Thanks for sharing it. Hicky is really good on the public speaking scene. Very natural. Steve Parrish excellent also. A bit Parky like in his natural ability to host a question time. This video deserves far more views and likes. Loved it.

135.452 ! 1 frikken 35 . 4 frikken 52 round the TT. I’ve marshalled at the TT many times and that average speed is very very special.

It was indeed tres spesh. I was lucky enough to be watching near the (old) Wagon & Horses that day; and seeing Peter come over the jump chasing down Dean Harrison on that final lap still gives me goosebumps. I was actually cheering Deano on, but hats off to Hicky for his incredible victory. What a privilege to all who witnessed it.

@@missydee6085 I’m a huge fan of Dean H, just something about him I admire, and his determination, but Peter is just a “once every few years only” kind of rider.

Stavros should interview Peters Dad Dave. I knew Dave in the 70s and 80s when he was involved with Appelby glade, Capitol Glass and Dr joe Erlich. I bought my first brand new bike from him when he was working for John Carr motorcycles in Swadlincote Derbyshire he did me a great deal. He was a good mate to me at that time. I remember he took me to Burton hospital at 5am on a cold November morning when my first child was born. A truly great man and Peter is a credit to him

I had no idea Peter’s dad was not only a TT racer, but a winner. Not really got into TT when I was a biker exclusively, oddly enough (BC….before cars). That was late 1970s to early 1980s. I was living in the south of England & didn’t then have any northern mates like now, through the vintage Suzuki clubs. Some of them went yearly, because it was almost local for them. Sadly, by the time I had time (& money) to go, my health had failed, which is a bit crap. I’ll never go now. I’m well enough I enjoy a few hours on the bike, but I’m not good enough to do the length of days away from a domestic setting for health management/ personal care stuff. You take that stuff for granted until you can’t, you really miss it. But in the last few years, I’ve been able to watch every minute of coverage. Really like TT+ which is just brilliant footage you can watch in your own time.

Just like Peter, I sold my R/C aeroplane gear, saved pocket money & working stacking shelves, bought myself a thrashed 1971 Yamaha YAS1 125 twin (this was 1977). Always owned bikes since, can’t ride well though!

Interesting to hear a Pro explain how the TT is 'technically slower' than short circuit racing. Excellent insight.
@Senanshero64 жыл бұрын
It's not slower (clearly), it's not as 'aggresive' as circuit racing
@lee41714 жыл бұрын
@@Senanshero6 Clearly, he means the constant reaction and battling of the bike is more hectic on a short circuit, so it is bound to 'feel' slower as there are much more periods to gather yourself on the TT circuit.
@GT380man2 жыл бұрын
@@Senanshero6 Yes, I found that an odd expression, as actual speeds are higher on TT, it’s the cornering that’s much less aggressive at TT, as Hicky explains, you simply cannot attack 200+ bends at TT like they do on tracks, you’ll die. As he says, they almost crash every corner on short circuits. If you aren’t right on the limit there, “you’ll have five people up the inside after the first long turn!”.

I'm really torn with Hicky, 'cos I'm a bradford lad so Dean Harrison and Ian Hutchinson are our local riders, and very well supported, but I've got to be honest, I've been following Hicky since he was about 18 yr old, and he my joint favourite rider with dean Harrison. They're literally turned it up another notch from john mcguiness and that's staggering.
