Idk where people get this idea that she “put him in his place”. She never called the hospitals after he shouted at her. All she did was glare at him, to which he seemed completely indifferent, and then she told him to go save him, to which he said nothing because… well… That’s what he said he would do since he got there. It seems like people think he somehow got “owned” because she got the last word, but it’s not like he needed to say anything else, and as much as she could lecture him, it’s not like she got him to listen, and it’s also not like she scared him in any way. By the time the scene ends, you see that she never called anybody, and he didn’t regret raising his voice. There is no “epic Mom moment” here. Peter entered a jerk, shouted at a worried mother, ignored what the woman said and left.

I can't speak for anyone else but were that my child missing, that would be one of the first things I'd do. Movies and Games do this all the time. Cut out the filler story stuff you don't need to see (I.e. Rio going full worried mum mode) and leave us with the important bits. The fact that we didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
