Yeah I agree. Everything is easier with meta builds and cons but it takes some of the magic out of the game. Trying unusual builds with friends was fun back in the day

Love the bow assassin build, my personal favorite is to use incendiary arrows with disrupting accuracy for group wide interrupts on nearly every attack

Dont know why this Video was recommend for me :D The Mesmer Signet Build reminds me of my old Speedrunning Time in GW1. My Guild and i invented it back then. The Damage was big and the Timeloss on the Speedrun was massive. Thank u for the great Memory Merry Chrismas

I am honestly such a fan of shortbow assassin and how much variety it can run. The elite's a free space, and you don't technically need to run Marksmanship if you're just using Whisper anyway. I've had good success with Barrage for regular party Splinter Weapon use, with Rapid Fire and Dark Apostasy to punch through enchant-heavy areas, with Shadow Theft for huge crit ratios and energy return, with Incendiary Arrows and Disrupting Accuracy for a little AoE control (and for that matter, Needling Shot can be expensive but totally shuts down an enemy for quite a while if the RNG lines up right), and I think I even ran a pet build once or twice. I used to run bow sin in FA with Melandru's Shot with varying effectiveness. The set-up with all those enchants is pretty nasty sometimes though, and I've always thought casting Preparations was boring, but it's such a cool and diverse sort of subgenre of assassin.

The scythe signet warrior looks fun. I had a lot of fun with a pet heavy Together As One ranger hero team build that also used similar dervish healers and a bunch of spear Ranger/Paragons, all with pets. With all of the pets and spears it's not bad to mix in a R/N for order of pain or vampire, or a R/Rt for splinter weapon.

This year I've been making builds to incorporate pets with each profession. Back in the day, I put a pet on every hero and just put 3 points in BM 😅 but now I'm trying to make beast master builds effective.

Yeah, it’s what I currently play when I casually log in. Very fun and great damage. iirc DwG and Intensity have same range (in area) so it really hits big in groups:D. Sadly intensity doesn’t trigger on Ancestors rage for some reason

Potentialy interesting challenges: Two builds. 2 teams of 4 that each use the same build. Two classes. Can be primary or secondary but the entire team can only use skills from 2 classes. Potential challenge regarding skills: You are not allowed to buy any directly, everything you want to use has to be captured, even the normal skills.

Desperation/Drunken blow plus Brace yourself from a hero. Massive nearby armor ignoring damage spam. Very flexible as tactics can be very low even a secondary. And command is common hero line and brace it's so high damage, command doesn't have to be high too. It could do more damage than ES mesmer.

oooh thats an interesting combination, ever tested it vs esurge? also there is a skill called, grapple, so 3x self kd skill might do a nice spike? at16 command that could be 3x79 aoe, armor ignoring dmg? might even more if you use echo and copy a skill

Any tips/builds for endgame stuff with only Nightfall/Core skills? I ask this is mainly to see how Underworld, Fissure of Woe, or Gate of Angish is approached as someone who does not have Prophecy, Factions, or EotN yet.

At best, I can make a Skirmisher-like build with R/W with 12+1+3 Expertise/12 Swordsmanship/[3 Tactics or 3+1 Wilderness Survival] that takes advantage of stances for Sentry armor bonus and the stance damage buff on the weapon that either would lean into the suevivability with Escape elite stance or the burst power of Hundred Blades + Whirlwind Attack. The skills I use: > Whirlwind Attack (Sunspear) OR Final Thrust (sword). > Gash (sword) > Sever Artery (sword) > Savage Slash (sword) > [Elite] Hundred Blades (sword) OR Escape (Expertise) > Lighting Reflexes (Expertise) > Whirling Defense (Expertise) > Troll Unguent (WS) OR Healing Signet (Tactics) Two main combos I go for while a stance is active: > Whirlwind Attack + Hundred Blades. A somewhat nuke-like damage. > Sever Artery > Gash. Bread and butter for bleed to deep wound to eliminate enemy monks a bit more faster. > Sever Artery > Gash > Final Thrust if enemy below 50% HP. Only if I am running Escape rather than Hundred Blades. Ideal if the enemy monk is dead already. I gotten more space to retry dervish once more, but often stuggle at understanding of what skills help with the burst or tanking process that would enable insane levels of tanking given I do not have access to Assassin for A/R Whirling Defense shenanigans I seen on videos.

@Boom3120 I have completed the Nightfall campaign already and have done HM. Just the Gate of Angish was... a force I couldn't reckon with in time. Even somehow won the first small battle in the failed creation area to shortly have the game be like, "Think fast chucklenuts!" and spawn titan enemies at my team's locations that would wipe my team since I have no way to counter elementalist nuke skills in time (the available skill capable of allowing to tank such is like either in Prophecy or EotN).

Was surprised to see the fire paragon not using anniversary daggers since you want to be up close for the fire spells anyway. Also lets you change attributes a little to get some command so GftE actually gives a little crit chance (not super relevant, even with multiple martial classes in a party, but still)
