So this was about a boat that had an accident in the 1960s and discovered in 2002. How did no one pick up on it or even see it for 40 odd years? You think with radar, submarines, and navies, they'd be sunk to the bottom of the ocean?
@floydlooney68375 жыл бұрын
mindlessgonzo navies and submarines don’t go around sinking ransom ships
@Khenfu_Cake5 жыл бұрын
I think it was implied that the ship kinda shifted in and out of existence or something along those lines. Like it was only found when the soul collector guy wanted it to be found. Of course that doesn't explain why he'd wait for so long to draw more people to it, so he could fullfil his quota, but whatever. What does puzzle me is that the salvage crew seemingly thinks they can just claim a derelict ship that went missing less than 50 years ago, and not expect the authorities in the country the ship was registered (think it was Italy) to you know; want to conduct an investigation into what happened to the passengers and crew. To my knowledge missing person and (potential) murder cases don't have an expiration date, and since it's less than 50 years ago the ship went missing there are probably still relatives of the crew and passengers, who'd very much like to know what happened to their loved ones. Just looked it up and salvage rights seem to not work exactly like they claim it does in the movie. In real life it's less legal piracy and more finders fee based. Basically if a ship offers help to another ship who experience some trouble (as in the kind of emergency that doesn't involve human lives being in danger, different rules for that), it's considered common courtesy according to international maritime law to offer some kind of compensation to the crew of the ship that helped you. Salvaging of sunk or derelict ships, like what the salvage crew in Ghost Ship is doing, seems to mostly be people, who were hired to recover ships and/or their cargo for the owners of said vessel and/or cargo.
@oren13054 жыл бұрын
The movie implies that the ship more or less disappeared from our plane of existence. Also, it likely wouldn't have been sunk if spotted - navies are usually capable of identifying ship models from 40+ years out of date. More likely, if spotted, it would have been towed in to harbour and turned into a museum exhibit.
@DanaTheInsane3 жыл бұрын
Well the implication is the "devil" is in possession of it. That leaves it out of the regular rule set.
@graemesmith67213 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is no possible way the ship could have remained afloat unmanned for 40 years, let alone gone from the Atlantic to the Pacific (Did it pass through the Panama Canal? Drift around Cape Horn without sinking in the violent storms that area is infamous for?). Ships take on water all the time and it constantly has to be pumped out. In a matter of a month or so it would have either sunk or run aground somewhere. Of course, we eventually find out the ship was being kept afloat by magic, but the salvage crew don't know that, and yet not one of them ever comments on the total impossibility of the ship still being afloat and being where it is, because they're all written as idiots.

They're all trapped by the business man of Hell, wouldn't more of them beg for help or try to go after him? Or get the others to go after him and not anyone else? It would be cool, maybe not showing why all of the unknowing people are going nuts and it makes you feel bad for the villain until you realized he was a villain. Raidou Kuzunoha Pfft "Goat Shit", perfect name for this awful movie. True, the speakings were a fucking PAIN to deal with, but I did enjoy the DLC as a whole despite of it.

So what you are saying is not only do Bethesda not make good falout games, but Obsidian rips off horror movies for their dlcs.

@@lionofthebluevale7170 lmfao. He should've said it was a rip off of an older movie called "Death Ship" but well I guess he went too much with Fallout.

The crew openly kills everyone all over the ship during the mass murder scene, but then takes the girl into a cabin room and shuts the door behind them... eesh. Very upsetting implication.

Like how is a little girl going to be such a threat? Unnecessary death

@@JizzyF83 Exactly. She wasn't a threat. They took pleasure in killing her.

Brian Cox was supposedly offered the role of Murphy (Gabriel Byrne's character) for this film, but turned it down to do The Ring. Good for him.

The singing girl was in the BALLROOM performing not on the bow with the dancers, they heard her on the loud speakers.

Ah Ghost Ship. The movie I think is so bad the movie scene in the beginning belongs in another movie that deserves a sequence so well-executed.

I love this movie. I'm ashamed to admit it. But this is my favorite horror flick. The ship is basically the Andria Doria.

Well, I put off Phelous tearing up the movie that made me go "Wow! I'm not scared of horror movies anywhere!" long enough. The one that took the turn where I'm now fascinated by them. Really, minus the twist, still love it. It got the job done better than most horror at the time.

After I first saw this movie, I remember wondering if the opening scene was directed by someone else. It was perfect and so well-executed (excuse the pun)! Everything after that part is either weak or laughable in terms of being a scary story.
@MissFlow4 жыл бұрын
True true, even though the openingscene is also flawed it at least was thrilling and so out of nowhere (like how smooth and almost romantic it starts out and all the sudden bodies fall apart XD).

The closed captions on this video are perfect, "unfitting, yet funky, hip-hop beat'. Lol. The opening scene really is the best part of this film. Well, that, and Phelous reviewing it.
