Phil has re earned my respect. This is the most honest candid interview that I have seen him do. After viewing this, I'm sure Pantera would have reformed. Happy birthday Dime.

I am a hopeless alkie as well. Every drug follows a similar path and a predictable outcome. It's a disease. Phil is gaining a lot more of a place in my heart than he ever did...God why did he not have this conversation with Pete Steele. I think Pete would have listened. On to part 6...

I have a new found respect for this man! Telling of the real horrors of heroin addiction, not sugar-coating it for the masses!! And for the record, it really has nothing to do with GOD!! It had to do with him as a man and his " WILL"......

What should Phil be forgiven for? If it's true what he said, he was mis quoted in an interview about 'killing those boys'. And he sure as hell was not responsible for Dimebags death. That was some freakshow who blamed Dimebage for Pantera's break up. Phil was a victim of his addiction, he served his time, and I respect this man for cleaning up.

@LadyFriend710 reading what he has to say in a book wouldn't be nearly as intense because you would miss out on the way he says things, the way he speaks is so integral to the overall message. The only way I think it would work is if he had an audio book that he did the narration for himself. I could easily listen to a 4 hour long audio book about addiction written and narrated by Phil Anselmo.

There is no going back to ground zero, ever. Once you have been an addict your physiology never goes back to before drugs. Pancreatitis is severe, when you eat your pancreas goes to work and releases insulin, so every time you eat you go into pain. I can't list all the problems here but as a pharmacy student I helped treat these people in the hospital and felt sorry for them every day. There life became a hell.

@AnselmoFanZero Even with a changed Phil, I will always say that Vinnie should contact Phil when Vinnie wants. Trust me I'd die from a heart attack if they squashed the beef completely, but it's like getting clean. It only works when its for you. When Vinnie wants Phil around for him he will. So no, I disagree. Vinnie SHOULD NOT watch this, unless it's what he wants. We all miss Pantera, Dime, Phil, Rex, and Big Vin, but until Vinnie wants it lets just remember them in the glory days.

@iamyourgranddaddy Absolutely and this really is a plague. I don't have this problem personally but I have people close to me having such problems and I can see how they struggle each and every day. What kills me is that even if you get out of it, you will always be fragile towards the product ... In, it's hell for everyone, addicts and families (if they don't abandon you and are willing to look the "thing" in the eye) out, you're sick for life anyways ...

totally man, like if schools or what ever it might be, want to have something where people are to listen to someone so they can stop or not do or get into bad habbits nd drugs etc, they should have a person like Phil or some who's been around the block a few times and someone who alot of people love and respect. So they will actually want to sit there and listen. I'll tell you right now, if this was some random fuck, id just walk right the fuck on to my bag a dope.

I would have never thought Rex was the biggest drinker in the band. I thought Dime had that honor. Rex can never drink again. Not a drop. When he is an 80 year old man he wont be able to sip whiskey while he watches tv or play cards. Cant even have a beer at a social event, such as a wedding. Folks, the lesson here in part 5 is to space out your drinking over a period of time. Dont do it all at once. Kill your liver over a period of time. Your welcome 4/4/10

It's more like "conceited." In your 20s you think you know it all, you think you're above everyone else and won't listen to advice from elders because you think you have all the answers already. When people get past that stage and get older, they realize how stupid they were to not want to listen to anyone from an older generation. More life experience = more wisdom. You know more at 40 years old than at 20. If you're 20 you know a lot more than you did at 10 years old. Same principle.
