Phil Collins was going to win that Oscar barring an unexpected miracle from Magnolia. "Save Me" was the only other song that had even an ember of hope. Reminder that this was the year that Matt Stone and Trey Parker were nominated for their song "Blame Canada" from the South Park Movie: Bigger, Longer, Uncut. At the moment Phil Collins is singing this, Matt and Trey are wearing the same dresses as Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez, coming down from the acid they took before walking the red carpet. Needless to say, Phil Collins won that night.
