I was 23, wide eyed, totally excited about the future, and I was on my first flight to the US. It was on a TWA, smoking section of course, and this song was playing on one of the radio stations on offer. I can't describe the feeling I was experiencing, I remember it being sunny, cheerful, and just happy. Every time I hear it now I am transported to that moment. I've had a great life in the US, it has been home since. But I do wonder sometimes what life would've been like if I had stayed in Europe.

I'm 41 with a deep sense of nostalgic depression. Whilst I never listened to this song when I was in my younger years, I had noticed that my Father had this album maongst many of his records. I finally discovered this gem several years ago and it gives me a deep sense of wistful longing. I want to simultaneously cry tears of joy and sadness, and I really want to go back to the 80s, even though I keep telling myself that it is impossible and that nostalgia is just part of the exploratory journey of self-discovery that is life, for one and all. Despite all of that, the longing deep within me is a constant.

Had an amazing cry last night while listening to this song. This song just reminds me of how far I have come, and the better things I want to--and will--experience in my bright future. This song hits different! I wanna be taken to "home": bigger things in life, experience San Diego again, stop experiencing anxiety attaccs, and experience Heaven with Jesus when He is ready for me to leave the evil things occurring in this world. Reading you'll comments make me tear up man. I thought I was the only one that cried to this song. Beautiful to know other people--who are human just like me--cried to this masterpiece. I am definitely gonna screw--slow down--this song up. Hopefully we all get to go to a beautiful home one day with Jesus: Heaven. God bless all; love to all. Take Me Home is the greatest song of all time. No, that is not an opinion....it is a fact. Let me prove it. Phil Collins, Sting and Peter Gabriel are in it for starters. All legendary vocalists. The name of the song 'Take Me Home' is something that no matter where are in your life, either big or small is something we all want. It can mean you just want to go home right after work after a stressful day, that you miss your childhood, or are reminiscing of the good old days. To those living with something terminal, it could mean that they want to see God. This song can be played during a joyous moment, or a deeply sad moment, or anything in between. It checks ALL the boxes as the perfect song. Facts only, folks.

Been drawn to this song this past week - I remember it from 86 but couldn't explain why I wanted to hear it over and over again. So i looked up what the lyrics meant and found this: "The chorus of Take me home represents the person's desire to go back to a place where they feel safe and secure, away from the troubles and struggles the person is experiencing in the present. The song is a cry for help and a plea for comfort and support." I have a very high stress career with few if any friends at times and that description just fits exactly what I've been going through.
