Philip, one small question about touch tracking. After the latest firmware update of A7Siii the camera began to integrate much better with the MONITOR+ app! And the most surprising feature was that MONITOR+ app now shows the touch tracking box on a screen! And it makes touch tracking experience million times better! Perhaps you tried touch tracking on a SeeMo app + A7Siii after the firmware update? I'm just imagine how good it will be to track focus on a iPad mini screen with tracking box on a screen...

Hey @PhillipBloom I only had the Seemo Pro 4K for a short time, but did you really notice a difference with the 4K recording? I think what happened to me was comparing an HD recording to the 4K recording, both captured from the Seemo 4K. Instead of comparing it to a recording from the original Seemo and Seemo Pro. Is it safe to assume that the similarity in sharpness and clarity is because the Seemo 4K is downsampling the 4K signal to create an HD recording? Which is much better than an HD recording from the original Seemo?

Can someone explain the market positioning then of the Accsoon SeeMo 4K vs the Atomos Ninja Phone?... the latter makes a big deal about being able to record ProRes but only in 1080p. Whereas the Accsoon SeeMo 4K can record 4K (obvs) but that seems to be a secondary feature... there's talk about using the recordings to send for quick 'turnaround edits'... is this where the quality of the footage that has been recorded by the Accsoon itself is going to be less than (lower framerate? less versatile codec?) than the camera itself - but in certain cases (news? social media?) that is less important. If this does 4K and the Atomos doesn't... why does Atomos think we should still consider the Ninja Phone?
@philipbloom7 ай бұрын
I do feel I’ve explained the SeeMo 4K very clearly in this video. It’s a super night quality monitor for iOS which does other things like I show, including recording low bit rate version for quick turnaround. I stated the bit rate of 20mbps, which is around a 1/10th or in camera quality. It’s not really for proxies either as the names won’t match. The Ninja phone IS a recorder primarily but seems like an odd product as it’s 1080p max. It’s also more than twice the price. So what the point of these 1080p ProRes files on your phone? I am not sure. Proxy workflow perhaps? Quick turnaround for sure. I don’t understand the product. If it used the phone as a screen but could record to say CFexpress B in ProRes 4K in the actual ninja part that would be an interesting product. The problem is the Ninja V isn’t about £200 more than the Ninja phone and records to SSD in up to 4K ProRe raw with a very good and bright HDR screen.
@philipbloom7 ай бұрын
Please stop thinking of the SeeMo 4K as a recorder. It’s not. It can record but recorders are used to replace or being alongside internal recordings. The SeeMo 4k is what I’ve said in my replies and in this video.

@philipbloom8 ай бұрын
What do you mean by “why isn’t anyone”? I’ve seen it mentioned in videos on the new cameras. Are you expecting dedicated videos about? Does anyone even have the cameras yet?
@TheSpecterRangerАй бұрын
It’s not 4k “30p” or 1080 “60p,” etc. It’s 60fps, 1080p. 4K(p, technically) 30fps. FPS for Frames Per Second, and P for Progressive Scan (meaning the image is scanned progressively down the pixel rows, without skipping lines or using algorithms). P is used to differentiate from i AKA “interlaced.” 1080i means that it’s displaying a virtual 1080-line image, but only half of the lines are scanned per frame, meaning that all the lines are NOT scanned “progressively” since every other line is skipped on each frame. This was done early on to project a virtual image that is double the resolution that the bandwidth is capable of creating progressively. It caused motion to look somewhat pixel-striped and less smooth, but created the visual perception of sharper and more detailed images. Most long time video/film enthusiasts know this, but I figured I’d add that note in case you didn’t.
@philipbloomАй бұрын
@@TheSpecterRanger more. It’s called P. it’s important to differentiate P from FPS. For example you can record at 4K 25p at 100fps creating slow motion.
@TheSpecterRangerАй бұрын
@@philipbloom Okay, I see that you are just addending the P (for Progressive Scan) onto the frame rate number. Maybe this is more common in your location, but is surely not as common of a practice. I work in the Los Angeles film industry--not broadcast--and FPS is used in both cases. Progressive Scan is standard and assumed, and therefore the P indicator is only even attached to "1080" on occasion, basically as a formality (since interlaced shooting is defunct). I've never before seen the P attached to the Frame Rate number, since it is redundant. We would just call it a "shooting frame rate" to differentiate high-speed "slow motion" shots. Playback is essentially always going to be either 23.98 (film & commercial) or 30fps (certain commercial & online content), without the need to differentiate between interlaced or progressive (it's all progressive). I guess different networks of crews use different standards. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this reply.
