I had motorcycle accident literally less than 5 minutes from the immigration office in Lucena Quezon province and I was hurt but thought was my last day before being late so I went to immigration and planned to go to the hospital afterwards. They could see I wasn't well and asked me what happened and brought me cold water and made sure I was OK. I had forgotten to copy my documents, found out afterwards I had concussion, and the Immigration officer took my papers and got my copies and helped me fill out my application for extension and had me out of there in 10 minutes with directions to the hospital. I've been here since 2019 🇵🇭🇺🇸 and I've always had good interactions with the immigration officers but that day he went well above anything I could have asked for. Sending love to everyone from Real, Quezon province on Luzon ❤

Hi, Pea! This is part of why I subscribe to your channel. Rumors are everywhere, especially with the internet, and there are always all kinds of rumors. But you, Pea, always give it to us straight. We know that you keep us up-to-date on the changes to any laws and/or procedures that affect tourists wanting to visit the Philippines. You cut through all of the "poodoo" (as they say in Star Wars) for us to give us the truth. Plus, you do it in a timely manner. Which is why we're seeing you on a Saturday instead of your regular days of Tuesday and Friday. Thank you, Pea! ❤ Be well, Pea! ❤

What do you tell to your BI officer at the interview for extension? What is the disadvantage in getting Permanent Resident visa versus 12 years paying for extension every 2 months? I don't get it! The only thing that is questionable regarding your official guest is that They are not 100% sure of what they're exposing! You and your authoritative guest are perplexed or disapprove of what they report. Exactly right. We don't relocate here for the great infrastructure, or even cost of living (which has risen quickly). I'm glad there are so many of you out there who really scratch your heads when it comes to all the hoops we have to jump thru just to stay here. For the most part, most foreigners are here to escape all the ills of their country of origin yet they are continuously under a microscope. Before I learned the ropes of being a foreigner here, I like a dumb ass voiced my concerns or disappointments. I further damaged my ability to remain by filing complaints against natives that were victimized my Filipina wife and I ( misdemeanors/ felonies both) only to be victimized even further by being labled a trouble maker. My inlaws have already attempted to have me jailed, deported and banned under false pretense. There's one culprit still walking free who's guilty of estafa 3x now 4 but doesn't seem to have a care in the world and is just waiting for her next victim. She even has a pro Bono attorney who informed her " just give me the green light and I'll find grounds to have him deported! Luckily for me, my wife now has her Dual Citizenship which I'm entitled to apply for also but don't feel I have enough time to weather the long process. I've attempted to solicit the attention of Sen. TULFO but I guess our case doesn't warrant his attention. I can only hope that my Balikbayan visa and my wife's dual citizen status will protect me from baseless assaults. Thus far after being exploited / extorted by inlaws & family friends I may have reached my limit of usage? Tomorrow's another day and all I can hope for is the sun will rise. In the meantime, I'm a hermit in our home that we finally got clear title and just have to cut our loses when it comes toveverything else we invested in. We need to get off this island and move to no one can get their hooks into us.

The online extension of the Tourist Visa is great in theory. But I have only been able to make it work once. If you make a small mistake (or the web app THINKS you made a mistake), your data is rejected with no clue as to why. It lacks error messages which might help you identify the data it believes are in error. I hope they can improve the computer code behind this great online option. The PIRATE Pea! You made yet another wonderful video with both professionalism and friendliness to clarify a topic that can bring rumors, some true and some invented, or "imagined" by others. After watching your previous video where you talk about your personal life and previous challenges and now this one, I thought "wow! You're amazing in communicating very interesting topics". Perhaps you're already the unofficial spokesperson of the BI, but they should make you the official one! Or at least have a "business card" at all bureau of immigration offices to check your channel out! You're facilitating both the work of foreigners and the work of the BI. BRAVO! 🎉😊

But now i am married with my beautiful Filipina, Living in Moalboal. The visa is always 5 years. Only yearly 'Show your head' in BI thing. And near by in Dumaguete there is an immigration also... So.... I dont work here, just my sparetime hobbies. But good to send this link to others. Pea: As always, and especially dealing with a foreign government, HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. If you can't be honest with your intentions to be in the country you are visiting, how can you honestly expect them to allow you to continue to be there? This is a situation of The Philippines protecting their people from those who have ill intentions of being there. Personally I'm glad that they are checking people for their intentions of visiting because that is one of the first steps in making sure that, like JR said "the Philippines is a safe place to be". Having a VISA extension as a guaranteed situation, allows and sometimes promotes people to use the Philippines as a "Hide-out", because they can just keep automatically renew their visitation length without investigation. Awesome information Pea and JR. Thank you for bringing the current information straight from the source like you always do. Having contacts who give the latest most current information makes your channel the most trusted for understanding the latest and most current situations before planning a trip. Your information allows travelers to be prepared in advance to save themselves time, money , and unnecessary headaches when traveling to your country. Keep up the great work my friend!

It would be better to have longer interval interviews. Too much uncertainty too quickly is a deal killer for many. I would guess a 5 percent reduction in tourist dollars as a minimum and think what the government could use that money for in helping it's citizens.
@fhorst02
@fhorst02 Ай бұрын
I could not have said it better. If you can't be honest, you have illicit intentions. Good guys in, bad guys out. @Davida, if that would be 5% less people, a great win for the country!! Yes, 5% less tourist dollar going in, 100% damages from those crazy people who want to do things that are illegal in their home country. Illegal here also, yet perhaps more available. Im sure we all can agree that those tourists are not welcome and better leave their 5% at home. If you can't be honest about the reason for your visit, don't come at all.
@davida.4933
@davida.4933 Ай бұрын
@@fhorst02 Who said anything about illicit activities? Many men if totally honest should admit they like the bar scene end of story. And bars are not illegal. Now imagine the government employee is a crusty old whatever and hates that alcohol even exits and thinks even less of age gaps >5 yrs and your honesty very likely could end up getting you the boot even though you were honest and said you come for the "night life". Now fyi, I don't go to bars, but this is a very slippery slope. And a BIG hassle if as Pea seems to suggest this could be every two months. If really every year, I have little objection.

When it comes to entering or staying in a foreign country you should get the visa appropriate to your stay. Everywhere, Immigration officers have the discretion to allow or deny your entry or stay (even if you have a visa). A practical piece of advice is to be calm and respectful of the officer and the process. They have the authority to question you and you do not have a right to enter the country. Being able to stay 36 months in the Philippines on a tourist entry has been a special benefit to expats. Don’t blow it you guys by complaining or try to resist this.

@@puravida5683 Thailand bro Thailand. Take a few weeks there. Take a few months even, you won’t be disappointed. Give Cambodia a whirl too.

Honesty and transparency is the order of the day guys. It puts the cheats on the back foot, to keep an eye on them. Thank you Pea. ❤😊🎉

I have used the online visa extension several times, but the last time I was told I had to make an appearance at my local BI office. (For me, that is in Davao). I took all my documents proving where I live and that I was married and 2 passport sized photos. I was expecting a 2 month extension, but I thought it would be a good idea to ask if I could get a 6 month extension. The clerk walked into the back room, and 2 minutes later, the 6 month extension was approved. *Hurray for me* All of this occurred July of this year. 👍🏻

@@todd7756 Maybe being married was one of the reasons I was approved. I don't really know for sure. I just took the 6 months and left as soon as I could in the event they said they had made a mistake. LOL
