I had motorcycle accident literally less than 5 minutes from the immigration office in Lucena Quezon province and I was hurt but thought was my last day before being late so I went to immigration and planned to go to the hospital afterwards. They could see I wasn't well and asked me what happened and brought me cold water and made sure I was OK. I had forgotten to copy my documents, found out afterwards I had concussion, and the Immigration officer took my papers and got my copies and helped me fill out my application for extension and had me out of there in 10 minutes with directions to the hospital. I've been here since 2019 🇵🇭🇺🇸 and I've always had good interactions with the immigration officers but that day he went well above anything I could have asked for. I'm glad there are so many of you out there who really scratch your heads when it comes to all the hoops we have to jump thru just to stay here. For the most part, most foreigners are here to escape all the ills of their country of origin yet they are continuously under a microscope. Before I learned the ropes of being a foreigner here, I like a dumb ass voiced my concerns or disappointments. I further damaged my ability to remain by filing complaints against natives that were victimized my Filipina wife and I ( misdemeanors/ felonies both) only to be victimized even further by being labled a trouble maker. My inlaws have already attempted to have me jailed, deported and banned under false pretense. There's one culprit still walking free who's guilty of estafa 3x now 4 but doesn't seem to have a care in the world and is just waiting for her next victim. She even has a pro Bono attorney who informed her " just give me the green light and I'll find grounds to have him deported! Luckily for me, my wife now has her Dual Citizenship which I'm entitled to apply for also but don't feel I have enough time to weather the long process. I've attempted to solicit the attention of Sen. TULFO but I guess our case doesn't warrant his attention. I can only hope that my Balikbayan visa and my wife's dual citizen status will protect me from baseless assaults. Thus far after being exploited / extorted by inlaws & family friends I may have reached my limit of usage? Tomorrow's another day and all I can hope for is the sun will rise. In the meantime, I'm a hermit in our home that we finally got clear title and just have to cut our loses when it comes toveverything else we invested in. We need to get off this island and move to no one can get their hooks into us.

When it comes to entering or staying in a foreign country you should get the visa appropriate to your stay. Everywhere, Immigration officers have the discretion to allow or deny your entry or stay (even if you have a visa). A practical piece of advice is to be calm and respectful of the officer and the process. They have the authority to question you and you do not have a right to enter the country. Being able to stay 36 months in the Philippines on a tourist entry has been a special benefit to expats. Don’t blow it you guys by complaining or try to resist this.

Pea: As always, and especially dealing with a foreign government, HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. If you can't be honest with your intentions to be in the country you are visiting, how can you honestly expect them to allow you to continue to be there? This is a situation of The Philippines protecting their people from those who have ill intentions of being there. Personally I'm glad that they are checking people for their intentions of visiting because that is one of the first steps in making sure that, like JR said "the Philippines is a safe place to be". Having a VISA extension as a guaranteed situation, allows and sometimes promotes people to use the Philippines as a "Hide-out", because they can just keep automatically renew their visitation length without investigation. Awesome information Pea and JR. Thank you for bringing the current information straight from the source like you always do. Having contacts who give the latest most current information makes your channel the most trusted for understanding the latest and most current situations before planning a trip. There is nothing to straighten out they are just being a little more thorough in the renewal process trying to catch criminals. @Pi2013spiАй бұрын
So you didn't watch the video and are jumping to false conclusions with no clue what you are talking about, got it. They are just being more thorough in their checks. The requirements are still the same and have always been there. If you are a true tourist not working wanting to just enjoy the country and you're not a criminal trying to hide from your country nothing has changed and they will welcome you. However, if you are secretly trying to work or a criminal trying to hide then they are looking harder to try and catch you. If you want to work or need to work they just ask you to apply for the correct visa and be approved to do so. Nothing wrong with what they are doing and nothing they are doing stops tourists from coming here. Tourists are still very much welcomed in the country from what I can see. I went through this new process during my last renewal a few weeks ago. They just are adding an interview that does not take a lot of time if you are honest and truly are a tourist it is fairly straightforward and simple. I have been in several different BI offices in the Philippines and every time they have always been very helpful, friendly, and easy to work with. I do wish they would allow 6 month extensions outside of Manila or even 3 months as every 2 months is too short when you are supposed to renew two weeks before expiration thus it is basically every 45 days and feels like every month but the process is not that bad so it is manageable just a little inconvenient and requires you to really plan ahead as it always seems to come way too quickly. But I love the country, and the people are amazing. If you are truly here for the right reasons and have nothing to hide nothing has changed other than you will now spend a few extra minutes talking with an great helpful friendly Immigration officer that will just verify your intentions and plans for your time in the country.
