Resistance bands are also phenomenal! I'd even say that it was better. I was able to do a push up after 5 weeks. I suspect the reason is: I'm 45 am in excellent ahapem I liftes weights 4-5 days a week while torn. I just primarily used the cable machine. My cuff was torn for sometime, but through it all I still lifted weights and it actually got easier overtime still had pain. So now I think my supportive muscles are so strong, that it makes it easier. But I'm not pushing it. Any thoughts?

Week 5 1/2 in my recovery from my shoulder surgery. Physical Therapy became expensive quickly and I felt pinned between saving my money and healing my shoulder. Your videos are so helpful, and I'm really considering entering your program. It also makes me feel better to see you carrying your arm with such care in these videos because it makes me realize how many other people have gone through this same thing. Although this has been so difficult, it's good to know we can heal. Thank you Tim!

I am at day 3 post op. For those of you who are contemplating this surgery, its no joke at all and not an easy recovery, so make damn sure you need it. for comparison, i have had 3 knee surgeries and all were mostly healed by week 6. With rotator cuff, at week 6 you are just beginning any real strength increase and have many weeks to go, if you actually work for a living, you are no where close to returning to work. if you run a computer, then its no big deal i suppose.

Hope your recovery went well. I am at 5 weeks come Thursday. I have a follow up tomorrow I imagine I'll be able to come out of my sling. My injury is from a work comp situation. Labor work my dr said it will be months before I can return to full duty
@flexjay873 жыл бұрын
@@philipvaughan320 , you could be one of the lucky ones and may get paid to stay home because of work comp. after its all said and done, in a few months, look back and ponder how long you were off work, and think about the money you would have needed, and gone through, if you were not getting compensation !

Thank you for the great series. I'm at week seven and have hit that first breakthrough phase of healing. My external weakness is causing the winging out of the elbow during flexion. So I have found out that because I'm in a pain-free phase I still have to be very careful at finding my limitations of strength and movement. Your videos show me that I'm right where I'm supposed to be. Thanks again.

I also thought he was Beckman when I first saw him. Anyway this video caught my eye bc my therapist had me doing three directions with the stick. I thought it wasn't doing much but now I'm having joint soreness, so maybe I need to try it again.

It’s funny how every dr has different protocols for slings and PT! I’m at over 6 weeks out(supraspinatus near full thick tear repair)..but my dr told me to ditch the sling at 2 weeks! Had me start PT at same time…where I’ve heard others keep sling on up to 5 or 6 weeks and then PT?? I’m sure others maybe had more extensive repairs..but just crazy how dr’s differ in care management🤔

Does depend on the surgery

Shocked he said to ditch the sling. How are you doing now?
@lararutherford-sg4sy2 ай бұрын
I was told in no uncertain terms not to remove my sling and bolster unless showering for 6 weeks! I want my arm back and resisted the urge to "do" stuff n remove it. I'm now at week 7 out of my sling but still put it on if I need to force myself to not over use it. My mate took his off after 3 weeks and now regrets it! I'm glad for once in my life I did as I was told lol

Is it OK to have painless clicking inside the joint when doing the pendulum circles? Or should you reduce the diameter to avoid those?
@gab16493 ай бұрын
You got the Bankart surgery? Go see a professionnal asap to correct it, no it is not ‘normal’ but probably can be solved. If you do nothing, your shoulder will heal with this clicking for ever.

@bogotask8board4 жыл бұрын
Hi! I’ve had the same surgery, same shoulder, going through my 3 - 4 week and I feel I can do some of this movements , been stretching and using the squeeze ball every day, also using the cold therapy system at home, as well therapy in the clinic but is mostly stimulations, my question is: is there any risk if I feel I can go ahead the time of recovery? I feel normal pain but no deep like the first or second week, when doing exercises in some point this pain reduces but of course the muscles around start feeling pain.
