I feel that way sometimes too, no doubt. Sometimes I’ll look to other accounts and feel like something I’m doing/creating isn’t enough. It’s a normal thing to compare. But keep in mind, what you see on KZbin is made to look and feel pretty because of how it’s edited, and how the music plays overtop the clips. We want to tell a little story through the food we share, and make it look enticing so people feel welcomed to give it a try, but it doesn’t mean this is how our food looks or how we eat all the time. In fact, we’re on our way to pick up some takeout in a few minutes because I was too busy getting this upload ready to make anything and we just couldn’t be bothered. You’re doing great, Wife in the City. We’re happy you’re here with us 🌻

Just made the green pasta for dinner-super yummy! Great with a sprinkling of Follow Your Heart Parmesan on top, too. :) Some notes for people who are wanting to make this dish: -Using fresh spinach instead of frozen which works great (I chopped it up a lil bit then pressed into measuring cup to get similar amount.. and then some more because I love spinach!) -If you want to use fresh herbs instead of dried, use 1 1/2 -3 times more than the dried amount -Coconut milk worked great! Didn’t give much of a coconut taste at all. So really, don’t worry about the cream if you don’t have it! -I didn’t have any lemon so I used a very ripe lime instead. Again, it was great! Super interesting flavor that my family loved. It’s probable that no one will see this comment haha, but I just thought I’d share my experience with it because I’ve always found comments like this helpful. :) Thank you Sadia for these lovely dishes!! Gonna try the pizza next!🥰

@@blueorchid9455 I wouldn't recommend the green parts as garnish as they tend to be rather chewy when left raw. I just... never saw a recipe that didn't include the green parts. You can use them exactly like you would use the white parts. I like them in curries, but they are also a very important ingredient of German Potato Soup. Where I am from we like to eat them as a side dish, simply cooked in a pan with some nutmeg and salt, or on top of Kartoffelpuffer (something like flat hash browns or potato fritters).

I have integrated your nourishing oatmeal into my breakfast routine, made homemade hummus/tahini, and cook one of your dinners each week. I have been practicing intentional eating, and find myself not needing to eat lunch, since it has gotten hotter. It feels good to be able to tell what my body needs. @@morwennaforatenner604 It makes for an amazing creamy soup (and many more recipes) that even my non-veggie friends love...I just wash and chop up one entire leek (white and green part, just removing the root), fry it up on some oil, add diced potatoes (2-3 medium sized), cooked it in some veggie stock with a crushed 1-2 garlic cloves until soft, puree, season to taste with salt and pepper and add some (vegan) cooking cream, delicious with some toasted bread :) Or just fry up the chopped green parts with some eggs to make it a scramble... It's full of iron and flavour, such a shame to be wasted

Here's a little tip! Rolling your pizza dough will kick out all the gas and result in a tough dough! Rather than rolling, use your fingertips and gently stretch the dough. The dough will naturally stretch really well and this will result in a chewy, crispy and soft pizza dough! :)

@@julecaesara482 No, not really! Focaccia dough is so much more thick and it's made so there's actually some volume to the bread. You could easily change the thickness of your pizza bases or just maybe use lesser leavening (yeast). Oh yes, I do love Italian Pizza doughs and I might be a thin crust pizza person myself too! :)

@alisha yasmina excellent point! She did use self raising flour though, essentially all kinds of leavening agents follow the same priciples but in different proportions. Use less leavening and a thinner piece of dough to get a crusty thin crust base just like what Sadia does in the video! :)

@Serena Alexa Emmi hey there! I totally get your emotions about pizza but trust me life is too short to make judgements about something as gorgeous as a pizza. To each their own, and seriously as long as you like what you eat, it really shouldn't matter. Sadia's recipes are all vegan and she doesn't use cheese. If you ask me that sauce looks goddamn delicious and I would even consider using it sometime. Essentially, a pizza is too broad of a definition and maybe altering your recipes to your liking is the way to go! :)

One of the cheap meals I like making is lentils with potatoes and sweet potatoes. I use a vegetable bouillon with the water and give it some salt and spices and it is delicious. You can also add broccoli as well and that will make it go further.

I think green or brown lentils would work best for texture reasons. Red lentils fall apart and get pasty when they cook (why they're good for soups and curries), and black lentils stay too firm (better for lentil salads).

Hi Sadia, I'm spaniard and I just want to share a little trick for colouring the paella, since saffron as you said is really expensive I learned that you could get the same colouring with turmeric powder and as a plus it gives a great taste too. It's not as heard as you think. I thought I was going to miss meat horribly but I didn't. It's actually been easier with teleworking since I no longer have the burden of my friends always trying to get me to eat meat. Before the pandemic I was plant-based and pretty lenient with it. I still lost 45 pounds over a year. COVID-19 made me become fully vegan. I finally realized how much eating meat not only negatively affected by my body, but the planet, and even the human population as a whole. Now I've told my friends I'm vegan and they didn't groan about it as much as I thought they would. lol. They might be used to the idea of me not eating meat by now. If you need any recipes, let us know! I'm sure we all have delicious recipes we'd love to share. Just let us know what type of foods you like. :) EDIT: I also have a list of fast food places that have vegan options. For example, Subway, or taco bell. Common places people might go.

Hi. You know, I've been looking for good recipes and healthy eating tips for a long time. I need this not only to lose the extra weight I gained from stress, but also because of my stomach disease. I accidentally came across your video and I can say that it is really amazing. Due to the fact that I live in Russia, I can not get all the ingredients of your recipes. But I'm resourceful, so I try to replace them with something similar. Nevertheless, I am delighted with your dishes. These dishes are delicious and unusual (especially for my normal diet). You are very cheerful and smiling and I like to see that. This gives motivation to eat properly too. Unfortunately, I still study English, which sometimes makes it difficult to understand some of the videos, but as they say, "the dictionary helps me". Keep it up! You're wonderful! Hallo, I have been watching you since almost past 2 years not knowing the fact that we both were living in Eindhoven. My husband is also doing PhD in TU Eindhoven almost wrapping up now. I moved to Germany 3 months back and accidentally I stepped into one of your old Q&A today realising you too were living in the same city.. Hope I can meet you sometime when I come to Eindhoven. I was a huge fan of watching the Food Network to learn how to cook. I also had the benefit of one of my friends teaching me as well. Worst Cooks in America might be a good one to get some basics since they are REALLY bad and the first couple seasons are hilarious.

Thanks for such an upbeat presentation of cheap meal prep, love you ideas, I love cooking and have been veggie for over 35 years but your ideas still come up with some interesting things I haven’t thought of, please keep it up. Meal prep has made such a difference to me on busy work days and it can keep. Y eating on track so I get proper food and don’t get enticed by junk food that would never give me proper fuel... I love you guys :)x

I am so surprised to see you not using the green part of the leek. I usually cook/fry it for a minute or so longer than the white part, but it is perfectly edible and really delicious. Maybe try it again? Thanks for the video!

Hi Sadia ! Thank you for the BBQ Cauliflower pizza recipe ! I will give it a try 'cause I don't like this vegetable but your recipe looks very nice ! I also write you a comment concerning pizza dough. I'm french and not bilingual so please excuse my potential language mistakes. In fact, you don't really need oil. I make my own pizza dough regularly (it is soft and crunchy like in restaurant) and I need only 4 ingredients : For 4 portions : - Flour (550 g) - Salt (2 full hollows of a hand) - Baker yeast (7 g) + warm water (320 ml) As I'm not vegan, I don't know if vegans use yeast or if you can find baker yeast suitable to your requirements. ( But it is possible to do your own yeast by advance (I haven't tried yet) ) For me, this is the best way to make a very good pizza dough ! You just need to combine yeast with warm water for several minutes and then, combine it with the flour and salt and mix with your hand. When the dough doesn't stick too much to your fingers, you have to "work it" : Stretch it then fold it, mix it, and repeat the process around 3-4 times. (done in 5 min) When you have finished, form a ball and cut it in 4 portions. Roll each portion in floor and set them aside on floor, under a humid dish cloth (at room temperature, 22 degrees celsius minimum. If not, the dough won't inflate). If the dish cloth dries too fast, the surface of your dough will dry too : so do not hesitate to wet your cloth once again if necessary. If you don't do this, you will see that the dough will be less "workable" after. For me, 20 min is too short for the dough to well inflate : You need 2 hours minimum (the heat and the air humidity influences a lot on the dough inflation). Sometimes, I have to wait more than 4 hours because the air is too dry ! The dough will double or triple in size. You can prepare your dough by advance and store it overnight in the fridge in cling film (I haven't try in a close glass container yet). To make a circular pizza form, I don't recommend you to use your pastry rool : use your hand palms ! It's much more fun ! You just have to flour your work plan and your dough : Press the center of the dough and stretch it gently and softly with your hand palms from center to edge : you have to be careful because the dough is fragile. The first time, it's a little tricky but next times, you will find the correct gesture ! (It's like a caress.) With this method, you will obtain a dough thin in the center but thicker on the edge. You have to be careful when you put the pizza dough on 'cause it stretchs very easily ! Bake it 8-9 min in a preheated oven (200-210°C) I tried oil dough recipe by the past and I always felt very disappointed. But with this method (no oil and stretch/fold gresture), I've found my happiness ! Hope this will interest you and help you ! Take care Sadia. Thank you for your content. Bye !

i'm not vegan but it is such a silly conception that eating vegan is more expensive. This video definitely proves otherwise. People think healthy fruits and veggies are pricey but the hail in comparison to the cost of meat, fish, cheese, etc.

AnqaOdyssey tofu, black beans, tempeh, spiralina, whole oats, quinoa say hi. It’s not hard to get enough protein. Search up high protein vegan meals- it’s literally as simple to get enough protein - it’s not even the most important macro biologically anyways. The only thing that may take more is if ur building muscle you’ll need a protein powder to make ur life easier - which no vegans use anyways when they feel like they want/need to. ~ a non vegan

Tried out the rice but I tweaked it a bit to accomodate the ingredients I had and the preferences of family: I had no bell peppers so I used powdered paprika, instead of artichokes I used sliced olives and I topped the rice with soft boiled eggs from our happy hens and organic salmon pieces for those who eat fish in our family. I used a bit of saffron I had. So delicious, thanks for the inspiration!

Chop the stalk smaller than the head or put it to cook about 5 minutes before, the stalk takes slightly longer to cook.

So many in our millennial age bracket get caught up in this, thinking that healthy food is expensive. I live in NYC, and I know there's places you can get a slice of acvocado toast for $14-15. You can make that same dish for a fraction of that at home. Thank you for taking this a step further here!

not really sure what this "healthy" thing is supposed to mean. i mean my grandma has been living in the countryside for 85 of which 77 she has been working the fields, went trough a 2 years famine which reduced her family of 14 to 3, ate literal garbage, she never heard of this "healthy" food yet is still working the fields and the only health problem is a bit high sugar blood.

I live in the middle of the south, the nearest major grocery spot is 30 minutes away. Glad you don’t live in a food desert and are out of touch with what millennials actually eat, it’s doubtful it’s $15 on avocado toast and the fact you think that’s healthy sustaining food is crazy, this video is great stop finding weird ways to shame people.
