Dont get me wrong, hops definitely has it's place in homebrewing, but i think people in general are so used to hops in beers, that even homebrewers often cast aside other herbs immediately. It's great to see you putting hibiscus to use in beer, I've made a few batches of rooibos/hibiscus mead myself, and it's honestly such a great summer drink :)

Absolutely gorgeous beer! I haven't tried brewing with hibiscus, but I'm going to give it a try. I love your creativity!

I have a Hibiscus Saison with some honey. It's so good. I named it after my wife, Ms. Marianne Hibiscus Saison.

Hii Just wanted to say I've been slowly getting into homebrewing and it's been very refreshing watching your brew days. It looks like you focus on having fun and try not to worry too much about messing up a little bit which is where I struggle. It's nice as well to see a woman brewing, the feeling of this not being a hobby for me is sometimes there at the back of my mind when I'm browsing forums or online communities, but seeing you puts me at ease! If you know of any other women (or non cis-white dudes in general [sorry white dudes]) on KZbin I'd love to check them out.

Don't tell anyone but ladies are amazing brewers and recipe developers...we give the boys a run for their money :) Once you get comfy with it try entering Queen of Beer or the Shebrew competition, it's all ladies! I always say, if I have a brew day where something doesn't go wrong I will just quit bc it's NEVER gunna happen!
@katzup3 жыл бұрын
@@FloraBrewing I definitely have my eye on some local competitions! I'm in Canada so I imagine the American ones are trickier to enter. My city has a pretty active homebrew scene thankfully. 💖

I'm drinking a (homebrew) session mead with hibiscus and Hersbrucker (and a crap load of fruit). This is sitting at around 7%. Hibiscus is a great ingredient.

I'd like to get Jenny on my casting couch. Seriously though I just bought a hibiscus wheat ale yesterday called Passion of the Heights by Florida Avenue Brewing Company. Seminole Heights Tampa. It's so delish but only 4.7abv I usually won't touch anything below 6.5. I'm a hoppy pale ale person but wanted a sweet change to the bitterness as it's getting hot out here. CHEERS!

You know why it was light and no body because your mash temp was 140. 152 makes average body by the way.

It was def lower than anticipated I was going for 152 for sure but not used to propane! Honestly the lightness works very well for the beer
