La Môle is always special! Keep in mind, that even Falcon 50s did land there - I saw them in 1974 when no special qualification for landing at LFTZ was needed… I was there with a PA28 Arrow II … nice memories

And how much this training costs, do you need to fly on cessna there prior to arrival or how that works???

Hi Jenya! Yes there is a special training required to land at LFTZ and you have to verify at least one landing at La Môle within the last two years. My son in law Markus, passed his training four years ago with a rented DA40 at "Cannes Aviation Academy". They did a perfect job and we flew from LFMD to La Môle for several touch-n-goes from each direction. The approach on RWY06 really is very special, the RWY24 can be tricky also under certain "Mistral"-wind circumstances. A "funny" story is connected to this flight training: The very same brandnew DA40 from Cannes Aviation Academy (F-HRPM) which Markus had flown that day, crashed or better ditched in the mediterranian sea in March 2021 between Corsica and Cannes with 3 people on board after an engine failure. No one was injured, the three occupants evacuated the aeroplane and boarded the life raft. The DA40 sank. I have a video online from that training - a nice approach on RWY06 ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJzVpaSflreghLM

@@pilotjenya I actually don't remember the costs. But you can make i with 1,5 h of aircraft chartering plus the FI's hourly rate ...

@@wolfgangkarner but do you need to do it on your own aircraft and meet the instructor at cannes for example ? Or you can do it on their cessna and then fly m600 there ??
@wolfgangkarner2 жыл бұрын
@@pilotjenya You can definitely do it with any aircraft ... you only are instructed about the visual approach procedures ;-)

I did not see the airliner.

Sorry Hans, maybe you watched it on your mobile phone where details easily get lost. The standard youtube resolution is often reduced to 480p or 720p so many details are missing. The B737 is crossing from right to the left begining at 01:28 and the camera is following the airliner. I do recommend a large screen for all the 4K videos, it is so much more fun to watch ...
