i heard someone say that your videos are super helpful but they only know where they go wrong, and they don't know how to go right. a good video idea would be looking at a few maps in relation to their songs and discussing specific choices. listening to a part of a song, discussing that part, and then showing what the mapper does

was scripted months ago, so it was pretty dull. if i had some way to incorporate the ideas into something else, maybe i'd try it (though it wouldnt be what james is requesting at that point)

if you can come up with any interesting way to use what you have so far, can i request that too maybe another series where you delve more into the process mapping itself, and looking through concepts instead of specific maps, and using maps/mappers as examples musical structure/rhythm choice via fanzhen, maybe various ways to express music a la graces of heaven different kinds of jumps (lahphnya, evilelvis, fanzhen) sliderart via byfar, rrtyui, probox, hw rhythmic simplicity vs complexity and filler rhythms (rrtyui's atomosphere vs girl's atomosphere, during the melodic climax after the middle) and then aesthetics and different ways of organizing objects, which is too huge a subject for one video, but i think it's an important topic and is actually the one i myself find most difficult to master. i think you could have a lot to offer since you'e sort of an aesthetic chameleon, looking at your unranked maps like zauberkugel

The problem is how parts of song are divided. You can, for example, separate each verse into two parts, have mapper 1 map every part 1, and so on. Or separate each kiai into two parts, have mapper 3 map part 1 and so on.

I see your point, but I think that there can be value in the juxtaposition of various mapping styles in a collab map and letting the player experience multiple interpretations of the song within a single diff. If the mappers want to make their styles blend in a diff that's valid too but I don't feel like the "traditional" way of making collabs is necessarily bad or wrong.

idk. as a player i gotta say so far i dislike most collab maps :/ like there are some good ones (my personal favorite's tsumi no namae i think) but all in all you can mostly recognize who did which parts if you played for some time and some parts are just way easier/harder than others. it really feels inconsistant. basically what you said, i know. many people in here say if the songs repetetive it works. idk, to me it sounds like it would be best for songs as inconsist as possible since it would be fine if the mapping was inconsistant then too, no :?

In the forum there is a place for this , for Gd but you can also ask for colab ... But the more efficiency way to do is to ask personally mappers you know

I disagree with the notion from the first part that it doesn't represent the song very well. Or rather, I guess that's true still, but I think the appeal (as you touch upon later on as well) of collabs isn't "represent the song", but to show different ways to represent a song.

My thoughts as well, while I do try to blend in and learn from the ones I collab with, I still love the different ways people reflect the same part of a song.

I think it's also a lot more interesting from a player perspective on repetitive songs. Though I've dabbled with both trying to blend my style with other mappers in collabs and expressing my own ideas in a jumble of other ideas, and I think both are viable. Just gotta wait for co-op mapping functionality now for people to really do even more interesting collaboration efforts without having to spend 29484 hours just sending an .osu back and forth.
