ON A PERSONAL NOTE…. After tasting this in its completion, I believe next time I make it I will use only one of the tubs of whipped topping and split it between the cream cheese layer and the finished top layer…. You can do as it calls for but I think the whipped topping takes over the taste of the other ingredients too much… Otherwise it’s delicious!

I’ve seen a similar recipe but not tried it yet. But I make a version of the cream cheese layer and whip in 1 cup of heavy whipping cream instead of adding cool whip. I was worried the cream wouldn’t whip when added to the other ingredients but it did and oh my gosh it was wonderful. I use it as an icing on cakes….especially carrot cake. I’m going to try this recipe soon.

I was gonna ask why you never use your stand up...its just always lookin pretty in the background! I LOVE LOVE pistachio anything just like you!! I would have left off the last layer of cool whip and colored the nuts with the food coloring and sprinkled them on top. You did an excellent job though!! Im sure it was delicious!! We are VERY proud of you!! Love you girl and God Bless you!! ❤❤

This reminds me of a Possum Pie, except it has a chocolate layer instead of a pistachio layer. I'm definitely trying this one!

You my lady are a true natural at this cooking channel stuff. The fun humorous personality in you comes out shining. It fits you to a T. This looks very time consuming I but also very worth it, it looks delicious. I love Pistachio a lot. I think I could OD on this pie. Yayyyy!!😊… Just keep in mind my suggestion in the comments about adjusting the whipped cream!… I just think it’s too much in that it covers up the taste of the other delicious layers!.. Just my opinion though 😊

I thought the same while you were making it. BTW I did the the roasted flour from your wild meat gumbo vid, and used it to make gravy. That makes so great gravy.

FYI my name is Gwendo and my hubby is Matt. Funny story when Google, Facebook and KZbin combined their info something went seriously wrong. They combined mine and my hubby's second account. Now everywhere I go I am a 30 something gay black\hispanic male who speaks like 20 languages, has a dog and a brand new infant that seems to never grow up. Have spent the last few years trying to get them to change it back to a straight white 58 yr old female who only speaks English. Up side see the weirdest ads and don't understand most of them. Has made me wonder what goes through advertisers heads.
