I'm doing planks everyday for 5 minutes with 30-40 secs break after each minute. Today I managed to do it for 1min 30 secs on the first go and I was so proud of myself. Some say planks are overrated and it doesn't work but personally being able to perform it makes me so happy despite everything. From not being able to hold for 10 secs to now this, I am amazed of this improvement. It motivates me so much to give my best to other workouts as well and get better. And I think that's very important.

First day it was like 5 sec plank for me..after a week i have reach to 40 sec... I feel great.... It gives me motivation that if i could do something which i thought was impossible but after much determination and dedication i could do... Which applies for our life as well... Thank you for teaching the correct procedure 😊

First day I stayed only few seconds.. Making the posture correct was hard... It took me few days.. Now I'm able to do a minute..I can feel the strength in my arms..Happy that I started doing it😊Looking forward to the progress

this might be a old video but showing the other ways to do a plank is very useful. In videos they always always do that side plank and full on plank with no moderation. I appreciate knowing there is another variation and will still yield the benefits of a plank. thank you again.

Yes planks help to straighten the spine too..my spine has always been curved because of my sleep position n it felt pain..so i started plank n its straight..even when i walk the natural position goes straight. Therefore in my opinion this is the best excercise

Thank you for this video! I was ready to give up un planks because standing on my toes really doesn't work for me but I never thought about practicing first by standing on my knees. Also, this is the first video in which I have seen this variation shown. So keep up the good work!

It actually really helps that Amy talked about the certain alignment position, as, I have to admit, it's so easy to cheat and "make it easier" and yet, that doesn't make it effective. I just did it (hopefully with the right alignment, as I don't have a mirror near the floor) for 20 to 30 seconds and yeah, when you've slacked off, you feel it way more. As I said, glad she went through proper alignment, not only for injury purposes, but because I see so many plank descriptions and wonder if the position is right.

@@jyothibedar1657 yes.. definitely..if you do for 1 minute daily, you will see effective results in 4 or 5 days. If you novice to this plank then start with 15 seconds on each side. All the best friend.

Just done my 1st plank following your guidance. I can already understand why it's good for burning stomach fat and building the abdomen. Definitely felt the strain, which was both good and bad; good because I have a lot of excess weight to lose, like 35-40Kgs, but bad because the strain I could feel was centred on the location where I had a hernia fixed. Hopefully as I do it more and become accustomed to it that feeling of strain in the old hernia site will pass.

I think you are lowering your lower back ..it has to be a straight line from top to bottom.. don't let it fall down.. keep it aligned ..a straight line..

I've learned that locking the joints when you're exercising puts stress on your joints (clearly seen at 1:42). Also the exercise will be less effective versus keeping a very slight bend in the joint. In this case the arms and legs.

I do ten 1-minute planks daily with 1 minute rest in between each plank. It buuuurns!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Great Video. Any advise - the elbow hurts more and seems to be the main reason why I couldn't stay long when I do the plank.

The full plank places a lot of stress on the wrist. I used to do 100 push-ups ... cutting it down to 50 as I got older. I stopped a few years ago when my wrist started taking strain. It's not a natural movement and not one which should be performed every single day, year in, year out. Nice work Stephanie!

Love the plank exercises for beginners! Quick question can I do this without getting into Sneakers? So that I can do it as soon as I wake up or anytime of the day without getting into the whole exercise gear?

Yes you can! I usually do my planks barefooted. As long as you're comfortable, you're good to go.

+samaksh gupta Your feet can touch, or can be apart! The most important aspect of this workout is making sure your body is staying level during the duration of the plank! Keep crushin' it!

This is helping me so much, thanks a lot! Planking is a lot harder than it looks! So how many times should I plank a day? Currently I am doing like 2x 30 seconds a day. Is that good enough?
