Do we have any other data on these placentas? Such as gestational age of baby at birth, age of mother, how many total children the mother has, if either of the mothers were taking medications during the pregnancy? I’m 100% in favor of an animal based diet, I just believe that we need a bit more information in order to confidently compare these placentas.

I do much better when I focus on protein during pregnancy. Currently pregnant with our 5th and still my 2nd birth was the smoothest, easiest healthiest, though a bit intense. I was eating keto carnivore after being zero carb for couple years at that point. My 3rd was my "carb" baby and she was 2 lbs heavier and more difficult to push out, had to avoid shoulder dislocia. My 4th was a stressful time personally, and seed oils/processed made their way back in when I had no means of preparing my own food and I struggled with muscle weakness. She's slightly less strong, robust as the others. I'm trying to get back to that carnivore-based diet with this one, it's worth it.

Not exactly the most scientific analysis. Was there a difference in the health of the babies? Vegetarian/vegan is a broad category. What was the vegan mother actually eating? I’ve been eating a healthy whole food plant based diet for eight years. My labs are always optimal. I have enjoyed lots of energy and excellent health all this time. Maybe the carnivore mother was over nourished. Please don’t mislead people with unscientific observations.

This mom need vitamin K2 and vitamin D for healthy placenta, not meat e dairy 😊

Where is any true information on this? Im a meat eater, sadly, but I’ve seen very healthy vegan placentas. Moms can get iron many different ways.

When it comes to non heme (plant based iron), one only absorbs roughly 5%, compared with 30%+ of heme (animal based) iron. So if a cup of black beans says it has 3.6mg, one only gets about 0.2mg. The RDA of iron for fertile women is 18mg and the RDA for pregnant women is 30mg. Even vegetarians eating plenty if eggs are unlikely to meet their needs. 8 large fried eggs is sbout 7-8mg. They’re probably not eating 18 eggs a day. This is one of many examples as to why meat, especially red meat, is essential and irreplaceable.

As for retinol (vitamin A) only about 8%, or 1/12th, of beta carotene might be converted, and a many people cannot convert any at all.

You shouldn’t feel guilty for being a meat eater. It’s not ’sad’. I say this as someone who was a militant vegan for over a decade. Meat is essential and irreplaceable.

@@salobrena6442 yea because you money making fools dont know how to diet properly or how to group foods. Or anything about herbs either. If you don't include the right things of course a meatless diet won't work. Unless you grow your own food and don't use gmo food etc. you know all this ma'am. Don't be naive.
