YES! I love it when you take the rare and unusual and TC 'em. It's nuts the price tag they're asking for the Gabby... so maybe the Gabby? I get the patent thing, but there are so many people selling chintzy patented cuttings - it doesn't look like they're being shut down. Maybe you can try TCing some cactus, like peyote or the myriad of highly poached plants in the wild (I was watching Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't). I think what you do could actually stop poachers and help sustain wild ecosystems. Thanks for what you do!

I can’t seem to find a video that shows the part when you have divided the initial tissue culture and change the medium to promote root growth. Have you made a video like that? Do you still keep them in jars and how many can fit in a jar? I am interested in this because I have heard that you can grow virus free dahlias in this way.

I have a _Wollemia nobilis_ , which was *incredibly* hard to get in Germany. I would like to tissue culture it. If you get your hands on material from that species, could you try tissue culturing it? Maybe for the start other Araucariaceae species that are easier to get would work too. Especially _Araucaria_ species are quite common in gardens around the world.

I really enjoy your videos and I definitely want to try this when I can finally make room for it. (One peeve is that you use "tissue" as a verb. You can culture tissue, but you can't tissue culture. Sorry, had to get that off my chest.) Any monkey can clone a coleus from a stem cutting, even me. But can you clone one from a small disk from just inside the edge of a coleus leaf, cut with a paper hole cutter? I've always wanted to do that. Thanks!

@jemiriobrooks1565
@jemiriobrooks1565 3 ай бұрын
I think you technically could but the most efficient way is for sure using a post of the plant with the highest adventitious growth. Just means it's a higher concentration of plant hormones at the nodes so they work well for tissue culture multiplication.

I would love to learn how to TC a paphiopedilum. I didn't know that was possible. I have a Paph. appletonianum that is hardy, and the flower is nice. People have a hard time growing this species so this particular plant cloned will be welcomed by collectors. Love watching your channel grow and your skills grow. I also started flasking orchids in a still air box, about eight years ago, and now have a laminar flow cabinet. I have just gotten interested in tissue culture propagation which is how I found your channel. I look forward seeing what you produce.@@plantsinjars

I am looking into tissue culturing monstera aurea. I was going to start with a normal monstera deliciousa before going to an expensive aurea. I was confused by the multiplication stage of these plants. If I understood the hormones are used to grow chutes instead of callus tissue. At what point does this create multiple plants? (I dont think this is relevant to the question but I am following the tissue culture for 200 dollars guide you have)

Hi! In one of your videos, you don't recommend using BA and BAP because these hormones can be dangerous to humans and animals. You suggest using Kinetin instead. I understand that different hormones are needed for different protocols and apparently BA is better for Monstera. I would be very grateful if you could answer a couple of questions in this regard. 1. Are there any safety rules when using BA hormones? What should I absolutely not do with them? For example, can I do sterilization in the microwave oven that I also cook food in, or is that a bad idea? 2. Can I use Kinetin instead of BA for this protocol and how will it affect the results?

You keep saying that you use "10% bleach" which I assume means that you dilute household bleach in water. Since household bleach can range from 7% to 4% sodium hypochlorite would this mean that you are really using a .7% solution?
