I appreciate the vast knowledge you have on your passion, I hope your depth on this subject is appreciated & complimented daily. I can clearly see it takes many years & tons of knowledge to speak like how you’re speaking & I just hope it’s being appreciated in your work space… You are getting a lot of views so that’s awesome to see 👏 Even though I barely know about this subject, I can tell the complexity of the processes you had to study through trial & error & persistence just to upload this video Stay awesome!

Have you thought about using cold plasma to sterilize after scooping out the contaminated media? It'd probably help you salvage the large flask culture long term and could be directed around the plants.

Hi, I'm from Southern France and I know tissue culture exists for date palm (Phoenix dactylifera). Does it work for hybrid date palms like Phoenix dactylifera × canariensis, Phoenix rupicola × reclinata or Phoenix canariensis × reclinata ? I ask the question because I have some seeds or some plants of each. I also have seeds of Phoenix atlantica (the Cape-Verdean disappearing wild date palm) and seeds of a possible hybrid of Phoenix sylvestris and Phoenix dactylifera, harvested in Mauritius. If someone can tell me if tissue culture used for Phoenix dactylifera also works with other palms of the Phoenix genus and other palms of different genus, I would be very happy to learn it 😉

This channel is so incredibly interesting and it has shown me a kind of world that I simply wasn’t aware of. Of course, this is what you do for reasons of science and for commercial reasons and they are equally interesting. I’m not surprised KZbin suggested this channel since I subscribe to some science channels. My best achievements somewhat related to this was the idea to peel seeds, wrap them in toilet paper and then put them in a zip bag and the idea that a glass jar where the bottom is open could be used as a One Plant Greenhouse. It works well and no water can escape.

Term I coined Californian Milenial turned obsessively Regenerative farmer in South America. A whole n'other level of scrap goblin resorcefulness. Your links may help me find materials to export for building my next carbon negative chocolate/coffee roasting biochar pyrolizer. And what your doing with plants is cool too. 👍🏼

I used to do orchid seed germination and replating in a simple glove box (ie, long rubber gloves through the front of a sealed box with a window) with good results, and it was all I could afford at the time... if I ever set up a new lab, this looks like a wonderful way to do it.

What’s your thoughts on the Athena tissue culture kit?
@plantsinjars3 күн бұрын
I'm impressed by the marketing and by the scope of what the kit includes but there is no 1 media that works for all c. strains. I am also skeptical of whether the pH buffer works as intended.

@ ok cause I was interested in learning how to do tissue culture and I figured I would start with Athena tissue culture kit, but if you don’t think it’s worth it then I might not buy it. What would you recommend for someone that’s new starting out cause i feel overwhelmed 😩

this girl allows children to bully the world's leading plant experts in her discord. She's getting a really really bad reputation in the industry. I would advise plant culture experts and commercial grow operations to avoid her. And I will, in the future.
@tectract6 күн бұрын
I heard a rumor that this girl just got on the wrong side of a one of the world's foremost plant culture specalists, who happens to be personal friends with and supplier to most of the largest tropical plant greenhouses in the USA. Apparently they joined her Discord and got bullied by a whole community of people. I saw one guy named "Evil Incarnate" bullying the one of the world's foremost flasking experts on her discord, and what did she do? she banned him, the guy being bullied. Good luck in the orchid game Laur. You have a bad reputation now, for bullying, and you won't be working with the world's largest orchid operations, ever.
