Question…is this your business? Just a hobby? I can’t imagine being able to go to the beach any time you wanted to…and then treasure hunting on top of that! Thanks for taking me along !

can you suggest a good affordable starter metal detector. Also you should start putting what you use in the description along with the site you promote. TIA

It really depends on the areas where you plan on searching. If you want to get into saltwater or in the wet sand on a salty beach, you'll have to spend a bit more on a Multi Frequency machine. If not, you can get away with a much more inexpensive machine and still have a bunch of modern tech in an affordable detector

Got a few questions for you. I have been detecting for 30 years and have not done much water detecting at all. Now that I just retired I would like to get into that part of detecting. What detector would you say would be a good water detector for someone who has a replacement shoulder. I can't really handle the heavier detectors. Second, how do you keep a semi straight line while out in the water. Third, have you ever ran into any sharks and if so, what did you do, and fourth, do you have to deal with issues with rip tides. Thanks in advance. Love the videos.

Hey Steve. To answer your questions, I actually started a company catered to water hunters. I sell what I call a Stork leg shaft that takes much of the resistance out of swinging in the water. Any of the machines that I make parts for are drastically easier to swing in the water. Here's a link to the page treasuretechusa.com/ Keeping a straight line in the water is fairly simple when you run parallel to the shoreline. You can use the water depth as a gauge to keep you going straight. As far as sharks go, I've run into a bunch of them. They don't bother people. Most don't even know that they're there. Rip tides are always a concern. You can usually see them before you're in them. I just steer clear

What do you think about the mine lab xterra? I'm from Cocoa Beach and just got into it. Having some issues in the salt water wondered if you had any tips.

Its an amazing machine for the money, but I wouldn't buy one if I was primarily hunting saltwater. It operates on a single frequency which will cause false signals and erratic operation when you're in the saltwater. I'd try changing the frequency and lowering your sensitivity. It's useable in saltwater, but it's not in my top 10 choices for a beach machine. A machine that operates with simultaneous multi-frequencies is your best bet. I'd suggest the Nokta Legend for a wallet friendly saltwater machine
