I'm 80 years old, and this mix takes me back to the days in the '70s when I played bass in a cover band at local dives and clubs. We'd rock this tune for 15 minutes or more and everyone loved it. Right now i'm teary-eyed, remembering those happy times. This song will live forever.

Dear @professor767. I hope that you are still doing well and staying SAFE! I personally say THANK YOU for your contributions to the music industry. The "COVER BANDS" of the 70's and early 80's is what kept this country going! It's too bad that these bands never got the RECOGNITION THAT THEY DEFINITELY DESERVED! BUT, I THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

Im 61 now.. born 1963.. our generation was raised on the GREATEST music of ALL time.. Muscle cars!! Beautiful girls & Rock N Roll!! Nothing like getting in my classic 1970 Chevrolet Impala on a Saturday evening.. going for a cruise & listening to the MUSIC!! oh it takes me back to a time of when i met my Beautiful wife of 42 yrs! .. she was 16.. I was 17 in the Spring of 1981.. I had a 1967 Chevelle SS then.. Pioneer stereo w/ Pioneer 6x9 speakers.. She & I would CRANK these tunes up & thought we were just on top of the world! Spring 2020 we found out she had Stage Two Breast Cancer.. 21 months later she was declared Cancer free!! So young folks.. LISTEN TO THE MUSIC!!!

I'm 64 and can relate. I used to drive to my local amusement park in the late 70's. Blasting my music all the way. It was music, girls, beer and more beer. 🤣 Those were the best days of my life. The music was great and the girls were even better. Did I mention all the beautiful girls 🤣🤣. They loved my car, my tunes and me 🎼🎸🎙️❤️

Isn’t it amazing that a “simple” creation from the soul as a song can bring such love and beauty into this world. Instead of making weapons of war, greed, fear , etc… we could create love and compassion for a world without judgement or prejudice. I mean how many lives were saved from let’s say suicide or even just a bad day by this one single song. Awaken people and live and spread the vibration this song is resonating

What a blessing! How I long to hear such music in worship of the Almighty! I remember this song repeatedly played at Ft. Carson, CO, where I was under arrest for refusing to be inducted and fight in that evil and phony Vietnam War.

Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons must be incredibly proud of this. Write a song in one century, make some money and then find your singing it eighteen years into the next century with musicians from the world over. Meanwhile a 57 year old in Philly has his favorite albums hanging on the wall. Including the first one he bought with his own money. This song is on it. Way Cool moments all the way around.

This song brings special feelings. My hair stands on end, I feel teary-eyed, I feel the love of God, I feel hope, love and courage. The power of the Lord is in people and if we just let it shine, there's no amount of darkness that can extinguish our fire.

Ear pods on. Full volume. Then that's similar to "Holy Spirit-Like Stuff", for me: because I like "Grooving"; those vibrations that reach my soul. I've been "rocking" to this song for many years, and this is a good rendition with a fine video accompanying. Thank You Lord. And also, "You Producers", and "you posters". I am the newest comment(er), #4,166. Thanks for posting. My faith has been recharged. My smile is back. I want to dance!

I still haven’t heard anything like this from music writers today ... this feels good ... not about sadness not about oneself.
@friesiamans19664 жыл бұрын
i see what you mean, but you should quit listening to the radio and go to bandcamp or soundcloud (or youtube) if you want to hear the music writers of today and - quit comparing! the doobie brothers were pure shit! none of their songs could cope with the duke! ellington played them right in the dust! and then show me one song of the doobie´s that is as good as this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5bNk4J8oJx7bMU pure sadness, haha... see what i mean? to think like that is pure rubbish! the old swing fans hated hendrix and guys like the doobie´s, to them they were the killers of REAL music - wake up from your ignorance, man........... hey my friend, please forgive my little rant - i´m a bit fed up from old guys lamenting over the bad music of today without having even the faintest clue of what´s going on - you have the net, use it... kzbin.info/www/bejne/p16QeoeZZZdjmsk i highly recommend to check the "npr tiny desk" series, there you can witness artists from all ages and genres performing behind the desk in a bureau (hence the title) in a nice intimate atmosphere - well hosted, well recorded... kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKqrmqOCaZqjra8 kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKe5n4NufJt8itU kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2bTaXWjq5WBibM best wishes from germany

@@turtleworld3208 haha, cool - did my rant above upset you? hey, i´m seriously asking - i realized, that i was quite injust to poor francisco, because he didn´t just spit on modern songwriters like so many do, but just criticized, that there are too many sad songs and to much self concern - with the latter i can agree when it comes to popsongs, but not with the first - there is not only sadness in modern music, but as i said, most old guys, only know what is played in the radio, and that is: products of the music industry! if you are actually interested in the music of the musicians, go to bandcamp or soundcloud or, tadaa: youtube... (and i apologized to francisco and explained my outburst, didn´t i?) kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4jXmJJsl9aZm6M
