So there take away from concord's failure was "well if we release it late, they won't have time to complain" So no lessons learned, just "we'll keep making garbage, but we'll just hide it better" Not making what gamers actually want.

If the game's bad, it's bad If people won't complain during the waiting period, they will complain after buying it or just seeing the gameplay when it releases and it will hinder future sales. You can't just censor all criticism eventually it will leak through and anyway consumers these days are super aware and since the games are also expensive like 70-80 bucks they carefully analyse it and watch reviews before buying it. It's not easy to dupe people. You can shadowdrop a really bad game and a really good game. No marketing. The good games will eventually filter out and gain traction through social media, influencers, actual consumers. Just with sheer word of mouth it will start selling millions of copies even without any active marketing from the company. The same applies to the bad game but opposite. It will gain all the negative PR and bad reviews left by consumers. You just can't hide it. It's actually crazy that these executives are so out of touch their takeaway after Concord and SSKTJL is not how to make better games, but how to censor criticism around the game and fool people into buying a bad product. In their eyes, their game is not the problem, the consumers are the problem. Which kinda tells you why their games keep failing lol. Rather than actually giving the consumers what they want, they keep coping and blaming everyone else but themselves for the bad product.

It won’t be a Atreus game, it has been confirmed that Santa Monica is working on a non God of War game and working on a totally new IP

Atreus game is a side project the new ip is being worked on since 2019 at least in pre production

while you're not wrong about those projects, there are multiple dev teams at Sony Santa Monica. I'd be surprised by an Atreus game too, I think Kratos is way too synonymous with the God of War title + I don't find Atreus all that interesting a character to begin with. I'd be shocked if there's nothing God of War related at all in development, even if it's early stages, maybe something like a God of war 1 full-on remake? or maybe even a God of War 4 remaster based on the past few years of PS5 releases.

The faster marketing cycle idea is pretty interesting because it aligns with the overall “attention span” discourse, which admittedly it’s probably only for younger audiences at this point, but still a thing to consider. If a title is even remotely interesting, be it a known franchise reboot/spinoff or unique presentation, any and all material that comes out for it will be dissected and analyzed to no end so of course people will fin reasons to be upset. 😂 If that happens again and again because you’re marketing the game for so many months and hyping it up it’ll likely lower its chances of success…

They had a major showing for Death Stranding 2 and announced that Kojima would be making an all new PS game sometime after that in a State of Play earlier this year. Those can absolutely have good stuff if PS chooses to. However, we’ve also had lame State of Plays. The fact that they didn’t specify third party games being shown is interesting.

I have to be completely honest here, ever since xbox, nintendo and then sony started doing these small events (state of plays and showcases) I've been let down over and over, adding to this is how strange this generation has been with the plethora of effing remasters and remakes. FYI I don't have anything against remakes if the game is more than 12 or 15 years old and remasters shouldn't even be done if the game if the game is not even 5 or 6 years old. I absolutely love playstation and their games have defined gaming for 3 decades but this generation has been a let down and because sony feels no competition from absolutely no one. They don't feel that heat under their ass at all and their recent games have shown how much they don't care. I have absolutely no excitement for this state of play

Im predicting remasters. Sony just loves their remasters. Problaby going to show off remasters of Horizon Zero Dawn & Days Gone, two games that absolulty do not need any remasters. Easy money though, lots of milk from that. Im finally playing through Days Gone btw. Picked it up on a sale couple of weeks back and having a great time with it, but it doesnt need a remaster.

I'm probably the only one wanting a Zero Dawn remaster. As long it it's actually a big difference and it takes advantage of the PS5 Pro. I don't just want a 120 fps mode. That game don't need that.

I mean, what's the point of a remaster if it doesn't change anything? It already plays at 60fps in 4K. And it surely don't need 120fps. Maybe it will have an 8K mode 😅

@@D4C_LoveTrain1 Zero Dawn was my favorite game from the PS4 era. Just love the music, the feel of the game,the characters, the world. Love the winter places as well. If I can get better textures, 3D audio support and better lighting. Then I'm all in. But not for any price. I have a rule, never buy games twice. Unless the price is right, and I really love the game. Then maybe.
