@A B no perhaps not. But his eyes are blocked by his hair/can't see his face when navi says goodbye to the great deku tree or when she says they need to go to hyrule castle. He runs the fastest here and when leaving the forest for the first time. Those two things can convey a few possible emotions without needing to animate his face. In the 3ds remake, they show him sitting down as he listens to hyrule's origin story; the original he is only shown from the back right before he stands near the end of the great deku's story and I thought he had fallen or something. They may not have technically added more emoting, but they made the faces he does make look better. The art style got changed too so I think that helped quite a bit. As far as i can tell it seems to be closer to the original art style used for the strategy guide books and other promotional material. I still have that stratagy guide; I adore the front cover of it so much because it shows nearly everyone in a different art style the game couldn't convey and in more detail. It was fun looking at it after meeting such and such and see how they really looked in game versus the front cover and the various character artwork they sprinkled through the whole book.

The zelda series is one of these franchises that evolved so many times and introduces new mechanics every time a new game released. The fact that even the comment section is so diverse in choosing their favourit game in the series is so amazing to me. It shows that zelda really don't has a bad game. Wind Waker has a great artstyle and the best Ganondorf, twilight princess is mysterious and Midna is the best partner, A Link to the past is an awesome classic overall, Majoras Mask is a weird f*** up fever dream of OoT, BotW changed how the gaming industrie should see open world games and so on.. But my fav would be Skyward Sword because I'm a sucker for great stories and characters. I mean look at Groose and Ghirahim! And as I seem to be one of the lucky few that had no problems with motion controlls at all I got very imersed in SS. So whichever game you deside to play it will pay off. Every game can stand on their own but if you look closely you will eventually connect the lore and it feels so rewarding when that happens

@@ItApproaches 🧢
@aozf054 жыл бұрын
@@ItApproaches If you think BOTW is missing the fundamentals then I think you're probably misunderstanding the fundamentals. Zelda isn't really about puzzles and dungeoneering. Those are things it became known for but those weren't added in their current form until the third game in the series. First and foremost Zelda has always been about exploration and BOTW has that in spades. In fact, BOTW probably has more in common with the original Legend of Zelda than any other game in the series which shouldn't be surprising since they started development of BOTW by remaking the original Zelda. Also Majora's Mask is absolutely amazing. Rather than exploring just the world itself, a lot of exploration is done in figuring out everyone's problems and how to solve them. And in every single case, from the side characters to the main villain, it always ties back to the central theme of coming to terms with the end of something. The three day cycle perfectly encapsulates this. Everyone you meet in the game has regrets or is grieving loss or suffering from loneliness and Link helps them find peace. And ultimately, those themes also tie into Link's own journey to find Navi. It's beautiful.
@sasook3 жыл бұрын
@@aozf05 I never liked the argument that BotW is "more of a Zelda game" because it's closer to the original than any of the others. A series isn't defined by what it originally started as, it's defined by what the large majority of it is. And the large majority of it _is_ dungeoneering and puzzles. So it's very valid to say that's what Zelda games are about. Otherwise we'd be making the claim that large majority of Zelda games aren't Zelda games, and that's just silly.
@SnowWhitesBite3 жыл бұрын
I think it dumb to say any LoZ game isn't a true Zelda game. The same group who made every other main Zelda game made this and they understand this series better then any of us could. No one says that the first two Zelda's aren't true Zelda games, and BOTW is based more around those games then the 3d games. I think this was a great step for Nintendo and this series in general to keep up with current gaming trends while also not shying to far from what Zelda has come to be known for. It has shrines (like 120 of them), it has 5 divine beasts (more traditional dungeons) and huge mazes and islands that make you do things differently. If someone played this game and felt like they didn't get enough puzzles all they had to do was find all the shrines or look for koroks. If Nintendo didn't make this decision to update this series the large majority of people wouldn't have liked it or bought it, and as this was the title that saved the switch, it was very important to have this game sell well. Also imo older Zelda's were stupid easy and it was rather nice to have a Zelda game tell me to figure it out myself. I think a lot of people are salty that new people are being introduced to LoZ through botw and not their fav, and I do understand that let's not be a fandom that hates new games because they are doing new things or be hateful to new players because they found botw first.

@@SnowWhitesBite Ehhh I disagree with some stuff here -Many people actually do discount the first 2 titles & say the series “truly” started with ALttP -“while also not shying too far from what Zelda has come to be known for” I don’t agree with this at all. The game felt so different from a usual Zelda experience that for the large majority of it I felt like I was playing some other series with a Zelda skin

I found you calling the Deku Tree 'Midoriya' kinda funny since in Japanese the word Midori means green, and it made me realize thats probably where they got Mido's name from. Also fun fact, Deku is the name of old wooden dolls in Japan and later became an insult meaning 'useless person' but can be pronounced as dekiru which means 'can do'. Which is used is usually contextual. Edit: At some point, I hope Deebee decides to look at some clips of some high level OoT players like he did with BotW. Some of the high level players can do some insane stuff.

Just so you know, the mini-games in this tend to grant two worthwhile rewards if you do well enough in them. There's also a few secrets of note. One: if you kill enough skeletons at night, something special shows up. And also, if you're on the chains when the drawbridge goes up, something special becomes available if you walk along the bridge after it's up.^^ Also, now that you have the Ocarina, you have something special you can do in the Lost Woods with those Skull Kids.

Regarding your comment about quality of various Zelda games compared to each other, you're absolutely correct. However, as a relative newcomer to the series (and therefore unblinded by nostalgia)...I will say that Majora's Mask lives up to the hype. Every game does something better than all of the others-Ocarina had revolutionary design choices (lock-on! Every single third-person game stole that from Ocarina) and continues to be unexpectedly good in its narrative and worldbuilding, Wind Waker is adorable, Twilight Princess has amazing combat and is so cinematic, Skyward Sword has a great story and lore, BoTW has the best overall gameplay and exploration...but Majora's Mask by far has the best atmosphere, characters, side-quests, and theme in the series. It managed to dethrone BoTW for me through sheer force of emotional weight, and that's saying something.
@notavailable82013 жыл бұрын
Not only that but in Majora we got to learn about each character in Botw we don't know a damn thing about them other then what was shown still not really enough to actually grow an attachment to them for my personal view. I know they wanted the player to relate to link in his state of amnesia but sounds kinda lazy lore wise since age of calamity we still didn't learn anything new about the champions which was a disappointment
@ShadowSkyX2 жыл бұрын
@@notavailable8201 Link and zelda only knew them so well and thus we only got to know as much as they did due to their limited interactions with them. Plus there's a good chance link still does not remember some things. The dlc was taken from zelda's memories of the champions mostly.

Gosh, you bring so much energy and passion to every one of your videos, and it's so endearing. I've been charmed by your videos ever since I first watched you start Kingdom Hearts, and I'm utterly thrilled to see you start Ocarina of Time. It's a phenomenal game, and I'm certain this will be just as wonderful a playthrough. Also, a little tip, since I noticed your confusion while fighting Gohma: Navi sort of automatically locks on to targets and can tell you about them, and this includes enemies. So if you're fighting a new enemy, try listening to Navi, since she's able to tell you info about them and how to fight them! Again, super excited for this playthrough!! I hope you're enjoying the game so far! 🥺💕

I really wish this was done with the original N64 version, but I guess this is better than nothing. Also the reason we all love breath of the wild so much is because when you spent 1,000 hrs replaying Ocarina of time over and over again, and then the other games that followed, breath of the wild is really the ocarina of time that we wanted since the beginning, the game we always dreamed Zelda could someday become. You are now playing the game that got most people into Zelda in the first place. I hope you enjoy it.

"Hey, listen!" is my text notification on my phone. And I'm ashamed to admit how long it took me to realize she was named Navi because she is the one who navigates you through the game. The Legend of Zelda, more so than any other franchise, is what made me a Nintendo fanboy. I didn't own every system and I didn't get to play every Zelda game, but I grew up on the first TLoZ (1986) on the NES, and OoT on the N64. Both were among my absolute favorite games for their respective gaming systems. The biggest reason I bought a Switch was due to the BotW announcement, and I was definitely not disappointed in that decision. Watching DeeBeeGeek playing through BotW has been a highlight of the last several months, and now that we're onto OoT I'm beside myself with giddiness and nostalgia feels. Just need to add in a playthrough of the OG TLoZ and you'll become my honorary best friend for life.
