Good ol' Darl--always slow/steady--no wasted movement. he doesn't show a lot of emotion, either and I think that comes with having seen/done it all. Great video...

On the bright side, the guardrail kept it "on the road". Would have been a lot more of a thing if the semi had gone off the embankment and rolled over into the wash.

Great video Trent, that was amazing how you lifted that tractor straight up and put it right on the trailer. Great use of man and his machine, or as they say the only difference between the men and the boys is the price of there toys. Stay safe out there my friend and keep the videos coming and always travel safely catch you on the next one.

Can confirm, the cab and maybe the engine compartment is the only thing intact (?) here, otherwise, the entire underside of the semi-tractor is absolutely destroyed and effectively a large pile of mangled scrap metal, I’m not even sure if there are any parts that can be salvaged or recycled after what happened. At least the trailer is intact and upright.

It does surprise me that places like that Cat generator place don't have their own lifting facilities. Good idea putting the steel pads on that little trailer.

Certain guard rails are designed to stop the vehicle without remorse and some are designed to deflect ie Guide rail designs that Guard Rail did it's job but left a trail of destruction in it's wake Trent

While the method you used to drag the tractor up the road is not recommended. I can understand why you made that decision because pretty much everything you'd hook to is gone. That and you were only going a couple hundred feet at walking speed. Sometimes you simply have to do whatever works and get the job done.

@noahater5785 Жыл бұрын
How the heck do you manage to completely knock out the front axle, and nearly knock out the drive axles so the truck can’t move anymore? I thought they were all welded to the frame rails, it takes a lot of brute force to pop such a large weld loose, smaller ones can usually be undone by an angle grinder or a circular saw in a matter of minutes.
@agentcrm Жыл бұрын
There's very little welding on the frame rails, because they're hardened. Components are normally riveted to the rails. But as to how, full speed with cruise control on.

@Kevin-go2dw Жыл бұрын
They possibly could but they do not know the condition of the wiring pre or post incident so is easier to use the light board so their wiring / fuses are not damaged.
