I actually like the affection mechanic in Nuzlockes because it's a reward for keeping a pokemon alive for a long time. Ideally you'd be able to disable it for added difficulty.

I just want to say that when I fought Cynthia I had setup Light Screen and she Recover stalled with her Milotic and on the turn it ran out switched into her Lucario (I was using Bibarel). I wouldn't have been surprised if she called your Clefable switch

When I used Bronzong she never once used Earthquake the entire time. I Had Bronzong with Reflect, Confuse Ray, Rest and Hypnosis. Garchomp used Swords Dance and I used Reflect. Garchomp used a 2nd Swords Dance then I used Confuse Ray. Garchomp managed to get another Swords Dance off in which I spammed Confuse Ray just in case it snapped out of it (We Know RNG Blesses The AI With MAD LUCK). The entire time my Bronzong was cycling between Reflect, Confuse Ray and Rest Garchomp never once used Earthquake. From my experience Trainers see to just know things they shouldnt know. Same thing happened before with my Magnezone with Levitate. No opposing Pokémon every used a Ground Type attack against it. Even Wild Encounters.

@@Aurora_Veill I still think it would be very easy to just put in a hard mode. Seems like every other JRPG I have ever played has difficulty modes. Just give the gym leaders and rivals 6 mons a piece, with competiive movesets and max EV and IV. All the Rom hacks now are doing stuff similar, with one developer, surely pokemon could. Games like radical red have spoiled me now.

Imagine making the game difficult, I abused Pokemon home and event Pokémon to get a LV100 Roserade, Mew, And Jirachi before the 5th gym (and Roserade before the 4th). (I did it by transferring the pokemon into a game with a lot of dyanite ore, and then converting the ore into xp candies. Then level up the pokemon to LV100.)
