There is a point in the video where they state 'we're retired'. As someone who greatly admires the professionalism of both the Met and the MDP and gets to see their often challenging work up close, it was a shock to see a pair of clowns like those two act in the way they did - trying to intimidate Buska. My dad served 26 years in the Canadian Navy & then he worked at Dockyard as a civil servant in the same job he had in the Navy. His pay was very good even back then & he took care of his family of 7 kids as well or better than his siblings who only had 2 kids. My dad’s pension was super & not only that, but he also had other services every month like someone taking good care of his feet & private rooms in Hospitals & many other things. I think the Military in Britain & the Commonwealth really do well taking care of their military service men & women😁❤️🇨🇦

Ofc the whole renumeration thing is swings and roundabouts. Yes all the things you mentioned is true, but you're also up at ungodly hours to rehearse for parades, spending a huge amount of time cleaning, polishing, muck hauling, and grooming as well as drills and exercising, horses AND themselves, and riding lessons. Me présente Monique , 88 ans bien passés , et ai un souvenir très marquant du courage des pilotes anglais ,lors de la libération en 1944 /45 , de la guerre ! Ou j’habitais près des usines où se trouvaient les allements , nous reconnaissions ,même la nuit , les avions anglais de ceux des américains , ceux ci bombardaient de leur hauteur ,donc beaucoup de ruines tandis que les pilotes anglais descendaient très bas et se faisaient tirer dessus ……. J’en ai vu des parachutes tomber, et priais pour qu’ils ne se fassent pas prendre , j’avais 9 ans ! Ceci se passait en banlieue parisienne . Et j’ai gardé en mémoire leur courage !!! Et c’est pourquoi , j’aime regarder ces gardes et la discipline qu’ils subissent et je voudrais leur faire savoir que quelque part , une personne pense encore à leurs gds pères et avec respect . Aussi il m’est insupportable de les voir moquer par des prétentieux et idiots ! Ce sont des soldats , oui c’est leur choix , mais tellement courageux ! Rien qu’à voir la fatigue sur leur visage ! À présent , la vie n’est que parader , les prises de photos le démontre !!! C’est pourquoi que je vous estime ,monsieur john , vos commentaires sont tellement vivants et beaux , j’espère ne pas vous avoir ennuyer ……. I can't figure out how to tell who Arnie is tho. It is also hard to tell what branch of military they are. I have a lot of respect for them. I had family in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

@@carolynburgin1835 the House Hold Cavalry, mounted unit are army, actually classed as Infantry. There are two parts to the division. The ceremonial, which is what we watch, and the armoured veh unit, which is where most of these troopers will be going once they complete their time at ceremonial. At the armoured veh unit they become part of an armoured veh/tank advance reconnaissance squadron, and need to do tank maintenance, range firing, tank pdriving etc. Once they're qualified there they may decide to stay there, move back to ceremonial or another role in the Mounted division, or try for NCO... There's lots of options.

Besides which all that in and out would be just as overheating if not more, than just going into the relative shade of the box and staying there for an hour. They monitor the horses closely, and wouldn’t allow them to become distressed.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 phone. I can use my camera feature and translate any sign written in another language. I would use in a foreign country. So simple. Im sure most phones have this. Maybe I'm wrong🤔

I am watching this 14th January in Queensland, Australia, and I am laughing at the reaction of the people finding 30c hot. I do feel sorry for the guards in their gear. People better not come here, before Christmas our temps were between 35 and 40c. Now, in January, we got 30c but 97% humidity. I love watching your channel and hope to get back to the UK again soon. Last time, the average temp was 0c. We almost had a white Christmas. Stay safe, and well.
