That very same pertussis story happened to me. I had it for 7 months. Nearly died twice. But my pcp looked me in my face and said well your childhood vaccinations wear off around 30 (I was late 30s), but the test is expensive (and you can't afford it was implied). I swore at him told him he does something to make it stop or I'd get a lawyer. Amazingly the right medications were given after that.

what i have noticed is that the police say civilian when referring to people and while technically correct its also what the military does to separate themselves from normal people and so they are an out group instead of well people.

also id like a video called "what thing gave you a phobia as a kid?" I have two stories: 1. I was at Universal (Orlando) with my family at the "adventure river" or whatever and there was a wavemaker. My silly little self got too close to it and got SUCKED IN. I'm a strong swimmer, but I couldnt even begin to try to fight my way out of the current. Luckily, a lady saw me struggling and pulled me out while my dad was FIGHTING to get to me. The lifeguard? they were just kinda standing there. thanks. thank GOD they made everyone wear lifejackets or I wouldnt be here writing this story today. gave me a healthy fear of waves id say. 2. I saw a Clorox commercial when I was probably like 5 or 6 that showed germs climbing off a school backpack and into the house, and it gave me deep-seated germophobia that i STILL struggle with years later. Even now, I am typing this on my "dirty" computer. So, yeah, thanks a bunch Clorox. Your commercial screwed up my life. :| okieeee thats enough from me byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I don't agree on no internet, no child will make it in the real world as an adult however blocking apps and unblocking as they get older and just generally checking without invading privacy too much and letting them know of the dangers is the better option.

Hearing these stories reminded me of when my ex and I were leaving a show at the House of Blues in CA. My ex was so drunk to the point he was being so loud. I tried to keep him quiet since we were near some homes. Sadly, someone called the cops on us; I tried explaining that I was trying to get a taxi (this was back in 2013 before Uber and Lyft). One of the cops could see that I was a mess and sober because I didn't want to drink that night. The cop actually got a hold of a taxi and told us, "I will let this one slide since you are trying to get him home. But the next time I see you two, I'm going to spend the night in jail. Deal?" I nodded in agreement, got into the cab, and headed home. Of course, I got the most extensive lecture of all time from my mom, but she was happy that we got there safe and sound. Soon later, I broke up with him because I couldn't take his drinking. I have learned from that day if I am going out to drink, do not get wasted entirely and be with someone who is going to get me home safe and sound.

19:02 I have one! I used to work at a frozen yogurt shop as a teenager, one of those self-serve ones. The machines in the back that refrigerate the ice cream are *very* loud, so something has to be quite loud if it's in the front and we can hear it all the way in the back. One day, i'm in the back, and i hear this very strange loud noise coming from the front. I go out to see what the heck is going on, and it's a kid having a tantrum. The thing is that the noise they were making was unlike anything that i've ever heard come out of a person. It was like a fusion of a rubber duck and a noisemaker tube. It was bizarre. The mom quickly dragged her kid out of the store, leaving my coworker and i slightly dumbfounded. 5 minutes later, we got a call from the mom apologizing for her kid's tantrum. We said it was fine, since she handled it well and we weren't busy anyway. I later saw the kid on a different day communicating using a text-to-speech app on a tablet, and i figured out that the kid was probably on the spectrum. Which completely explained why their wail sounded so unusual - some autistic people, usually the less verbal ones, can have these sorta "super screeches." My guess is because all of their energy and emotion is being expressed in a single sound during a meltdown. I'm on the spectrum myself, and while i'm verbal and can do most things without issue, I can empathize quite a bit with the kid.

9:37 Retail workers will have a plethora of these stories, be it with fellow coworkers or customers. I have some myself. I worked with two people who acted like queen bees around almost everyone. The first queen bee would constantly be telling people what to do, even if they weren't under the same job code as her. One of these people was a woman that was a former supervisor at a grocery store she and I both worked at prior who was watching over some self checkouts; Queen Bee was telling her she had lines forming, but was shut down immediately with a stern look and an "I know." The second queen bee was a more recent one who got it in her head that when our actual supervisors weren't around, she was in charge. She would stand really close to anyone and tell them to go on their break or lunch, yet not tell anyone when she went on or came back from these breaks. I actually got on her about the latter and let a supervisor know about it after journaling it down. Another thing she did was get on any one to do something, especially a young girl who just graduated high school this year, and painted herself as a hard worker during a small meeting when she did the same minimal effort the rest of us did every now and then. Both of these queen bees were let go because they called out too many times and at Walmart, if you gather too many points from that alone they have no choice but to do that.

At the welding story at 15 minutes in as soon as I heard the not quite intelligent thing I just shouted "NO!". I've been in welding classes before, I'm planning on becoming a welder, but no. I've heard from my instructor who retired last school year sadly that if you sun burn your eyes by a arc, this is paraphrased as he said stuff yt is like "BAD, ME NO LIKEY" is how yt acts towards, but to what he said, "you will cry for your momma for days". You CAN get eyedropper to help, they'll last 30 minutes and can be used twice, no more unless you want to risk more permanent vision damage then you'll already have from arc/sun burns in your eyes from the extreme UV light. For arc welding you'll N E E D atleast a shade 9, up to a S H A D E 1 3, I'll say this shade 9 is like sun glasses but 10-20 maybe 30 times darker, shade 13 will make all but direct light sources completely dark, i like to double up on Z87 glasses so I really can get protected, all you NEED is a something over your eyes, even normal glass will protect your eyes from the UV burns but it won't protect you from the very high brightness. Sidenote, I didn't meantion this yet, even if your using a shade 13 a high enough intensity of AC or DC from your electrode will STILLA LIGHT UP A GOOD INCH OR 2 OF THE SURFACE, on normal voltages (70-90 for smaller ones, 100-120 for the bigger ones for the 120V machines we are running) you'll only need shade 9-11 i prefer 11 as my blue eyes don't absorb as much light as a darker eye color person would have, my eyes will take in more light particles then someone with brown eyes would, statically that is, but still you can't stare directly into a arc because it is brighter then any house hold lights, take light any light bulb and double it, that how powerful a ARC actually is

Last news years, the chef at a restaurant I was at left his station. He went out to the car park with a meat cleaver to chase off a drunk man who had punched a woman holding a baby and was screaming at her. He got the man to leave, but he got a bit behind on the orders. No one complained when they heard what happened, though. So if things are behind with your orders, don't assume the worst. There may be a reasonable explanation.

19:27 I used to work in a steakhouse that had service like this. I was *just* a busboy in the server’s eyes but I was practically the only reason some customers stayed/tipped. All I did was make them do their jobs or do basic things like grabbing silverware/drink refills for the time servers would be doing nothing, what’s sad is I never got a dollar in tips.

Gotta say one thing - QUESTION DOCTORS ABOUT EVERYTHING. Understand what is happening to your body. DON'T assume you know better, and bc X didn't happen to your friend's dog's uncle's pet monkey, that it won't happen to you. YOU are the ONLY person who can effectively advocate for your care. But do it rooted in real studies and science, not something off of Facebook.

I’m 5’0 literally never struggled to reach the pedals in ANY vehicle and I have my seat back pretty far. My mom who’s taller than me moves my seat forward when she drives my car and still never struggled. Never once heard about the booster seat or ticket over your height
@zachcrawford5
@zachcrawford5 11 ай бұрын
I think the limit is like 4'9. Though I imagine a booster seat would actually make it harder to reach the pedals even if it helped on see over the wheel better. Thing is some people of the same height can have shorter or longer legs and shorter or longer torsos. Like , I'm 5'0 as well but my inseam is only like 24 inches so reaching the peddle (fully) while sitting back in the seat and seeing over the steering wheel all at the same time is hard for me in some vehicles, I can't drive anyway so for me it's a non issue. Someone who is 5'2 might still need a boost if they have a shorter torso (though they could likely reach the pedals easily, since their legs would be much longer) so the law is far from perfect. IMO they should measuring your sitting height. Not your standing height.

I am not a chemist nor have i ever had a chemistry class. I am aware of how everything is made up of various chemical components and one of the easiest ways to explain how basic things work is with food. I helped a lady for a short time watching her kids and in that time learned she was a major moron. She once tried to tell me that milk is chemically identical to cow snot. I made the mistake of trying to educate her on why that is literally impossible. She was the biggest baby in that house.

I like the people knowing more than doctors. I used to cut my nails very short, got an ingrown fingernail, then infection. It was very resistant to antibiotics and a quick surgery to cut it out. Had to get a legitimate surgery in an operating room. Still missing a chunk of my finger, so I don't cut them short anymore. Wife says my nails are too long and I explain the story and how long the doc told me to keep my nails. She said he's wrong, I proceed to ask her where her medical doctorate is... and I'm the asshole.

The bit about the kids smoking weed in a police parking lot reminded me of a friend who needed me to pick him (Jesse) and his friend (Ahmed) up because Ahmed took his uncle's car out for a drive and his uncle reported it stolen, and they didn't want to get caught with a hot car. They brilliantly decide to ditch it in the county government center's parking lot. Cop central, istfg they were morons and lucky they didn't get caught

Doctor was all like no way they have that they've been coming in for ages with complaint I just did the test to humour them. blablabla I didn't have time for this shit so said don't care what you think this person could very well have cancer so I want you to get the ball rolling on that, like I get it I'm not a doctor or nurse but I specialise in my field and am the person doing all the diagnosis I'm not going to tell you to tell your patient bad news if I didn't think it was warranted.

With story 5 the server messing up your order isn’t a reason to nip tip. Also servers CAN NOT do anything about what the kitchen does and if they decide to give the server the apps at the same time as dinner it’s not the servers fault. Also if he was blaming you for messing up the drinks twice it sounds to me like you guys might have been the issue. Maybe you didn’t know what you were ordering or maybe you app were shouting at the same time or your in the phone

I want to point out that everyone thats on the "F the police" bandwagon that your problem shouldn't be with the police but like Mainly Fact said it should be with the police system. The cops themselves can only do so much without breaking the law themselves and risking losing their job. So all you ppl that believe the police are useless you need to take a deeper look at the actual police system bc believe it or not they actually want to help most of the time but can't bc their system is preventing them from doing so
