God has said that Israel is his promised land. Whoever comes against Israel is coming against God. Biden said today he wants to divide Israel, for Palestine people.

The Biden campaign needs to hire the people who put together the hype pieces the NFL uses to promote the players, particularly the quarterbacks. They make these guys so cool looking and so exciting and you get all hyped up rooting for them. The music, the colors and the lighting get people's brains releasing the feel-good chemicals. I disagree about the middle ad. That one was aimed at the Fox viewers who have gotten used to the Gatling gun approach employed by people like Kellyanne Conway. And it is also for the family members of Fox viewers who are tired of hearing the economy so bad. They have something to come back with-a whole list. That ad should be used to maximum saturation around Thanksgiving.

The Ukraine ad portrays honorable strength. Biden keeps our commitments to our allies. Biden walks with the bold young leader of Ukraine in their capitol city under siege--unafraid and determined. Biden will do the right thing. I liked it.

any ad with building rubble (whether earthquakes, war, whatever) is a little schizophrenic in effect. the viewer sees the terrible reality (and knows that people were inside when the building was destroyed or damaged)... but maybe a pro-candidate ad shouldn't leave viewers feeling sad/bad? The deep-voiced narrator trope: I suspect that it works on some viewers (or on radio listeners). An extreme DeepVoice example is the man who has for decades been narrating PBS Frontline episodes. McTerdle's fake level of "gravelly" (griddle-gargling) DeepVoice is somewhat annoying, if only because it seems deliberately "learned".

It may be helpful with male voters in particular to point out that "the economy" and "reproductive rights" are *not* separate issues. The media so often presents them as unrelated or implies that voters are more concerned about important issues like the economy, not a social or "women's" issue. I realize that this may not be actionable yet because ads aren't talking about it, but that's part of the problem. If you think that gas prices and inflation are economic issues that heavily influence how people vote, you're right, BUT that's nothing compared with the economic impact of being forced to have children you can't afford. Or even feel like you have to set up a separate emergency fund in case someone in the family has to fly to a distant state for an abortion. Maybe a lot of voters (as I said, particularly men) who haven't been in this situation don't immediately recognize it as a pocketbook issue, but if an ad showed them that it certainly is, they might weigh reproductive rights more heavily when deciding whether to vote and for whom. Maybe campaign advisors don't think this point is important enough to spend ad money on -- but I argue that it is, because there are still a lot of voters who are on "our" side in theory but don't think abortion rights are very important. When people are complaining that gas prices are up 50 cents a gallon, I just think, "Wait till you have to support an entire person you can't afford." For nearly everyone, child care or even diapers would dwarf the cost of gas.

I'm not comfortable with the image of abortion as a means to financial well-being. I understand the connection but birth control should be the preferred option for financial and family planning. Not saying teens who fuck up should be forced to have an unwanted child just I don't like the optics because the right wing will definitely conflate the issue to make it sound like eugenics in Nazi Germany.

On the Marjorie Trailer Queen ad, they didn't have to do much editing. it was pretty much exactly the way she said it. except they cut the darogatory remarks out. and the last ad was true, Biden put himself in serious jeopardy going to Ukraine. in middle of a warzone. that definitely took some balls to do that. and I guarantee you will never Trump doing that for sure. his bone spurs would be acting up something fearse. there's also an AI ad, with Biden, that's pretty good. that really shows the dark Brandon side of him. but it's not endorced by the Biden campaign so it wouldn't be on here.

You're analysis on these is 💯 The MTG ad is brilliant, obvious take is obvious. The 2nd - i was looking in the lower right corner for the "skip ad" button. It might just be the "focus-group-approved" style (music, static photos, graphics,) but it doesn't succeed in telling the story its trying to tell. The idea might work as a "series" of ads, but as Jennifer pointed out, its trying to do too much. And I don't like the narrator, but at least he's better than the guy in The 3rd - Jennifer's take is exactly correct. This is the one time in your analysis I'll disagree with you Dan. I get that you're playing a little bit devil's advocate, but i really want to see the methodology behind these "polls" to get to where "Americans are doing too much to help Ukraine" is a potential takeaway. Maybe that's my right wing blindspot missing some of the fabricated narrative, and i wish the media would do a better job of explaining "how" military aid to Ukraine works (i.e. clearing out nearly-obsolete equipment that we now don't have to pay to store/maintain - not a blank check). But I'm still firmly of the belief that the vast majority of the American public aligns more closely with the "Poles" than those "polls" 😉

It feels weird to say, but I think the Biden adds need him in sunglasses more. They make him look a bit less old, especially by blocking the view of him squinting. Someone also needs to figure out how to get him to walk with his mouth closed, as that also makes him look a bit spaced out. It feels dumb that "sunglasses = a bit cooler" is my take but I don't think the election is going to be won on policy at this point.
