I bought the 2018 T7 on close out for 1349.00 Too good a deal to pass up. I looked hard at this model but wanted a little more suspension. Polygon makes a heck of a bike and you can't beat the price.

I've had this bike for two years and it's my favorite. I'm just the guy for this bike too; loves to ride but I'm not the hardcore, downhill, Red Bull Race aspiring rider many in the sport are. I once rode my brother in-laws's top-of-the-line-money-is-no-object Trek mountain bike and yes, it was glorious. It was like riding on a magic carpet....and also, it cost him five grand. My Polygon cost less than half what my brother in law's cost and honestly, the Polygon I would say rides 80% as well as the Trek. So, value wise, I'm very happy with my Polygon beside the fact that with my savings, I actually purchased a second Polygon and a Schwinn Axum which is my project bike. I've invested about five hundred dollars into the Axum which has made it pretty capable, all things considered. Now my entire family gets to ride for about what my brother in law spent on one bike. The Polygon I think meets most riders' needs and the next step up in MTBs jumps up exponentially in price but not necessarily in capabilities. It's the Law of Diminishing Returns on display when it comes to mountain bikes which seems to be different than say, motorcycles. I ride a motorcycle too and the price to features ratio is a lot more even when it comes to motorcycles. Maybe mountain biking is a much more niche hobby compared to others in that the economics of it don't fully reach economies of scale; too few riders in order to have a more even price point to features ratio. I think Polygon is very smart by selling these bikes directly to consumers and avoiding the middle man, the bike shop, which seems to have a boutique business model. The bike shop caters to fewer customers with disposable income and avid mountain bike riders but not as much to the average Joe who just wants to ride his local trail on the weekend from time to time. Bikes Online can afford to sell mountain bikes with high quality components for about 60% of what a similarly equipped bike would cost at say REI.

After buying a used full-suspension bike last year with many issues, including a cracked frame.. -_- I did some research earlier this year and decided this was the way I was going to go. I had to wait for it to come off back-order, and today is supposed to be the day it ships. The weather is beautiful here now, and I can't wait to get out and hopefully ride next week! As a novice who's had the same bike since college, a Specialized Hard Rock, no suspension, this will be a huge upgrade. The local trails were kicking my butt last year on my hard rock and on the janky used Trek bike that I picked up last year. So yeah, they opened up pre-orders for the new stock a month ago and I'm just sitting here patiently waiting... Any day now... Any day....

I’ve got the same bike just in a Medium 29er. I found swapping the rear shock really helped bring the bike to life. I swapped the X Fusion for a Manitou McLeod and the bike feels so much better and more responsive. I also swapped the front tire for a Maxxis but went with the DHR II. The WTB are actually tubeless compatible they just don’t state it on the sidewalk but on the WTB website it states they are and I’ve been running mine tubeless with no issues. Also cut the bars down to 760mm.

@OLKIEMTB4 жыл бұрын
It really depends on what is important to you. The mythique it is a great value bike as well especially if you want alittle more travel. Let's break it down by components. Polygon has a better drive train just by a little, the vitus comes with better wheels and tires, the virus has slightly better brakes, they both have the same shock but the polygon has the lockout version, I have never ridden the xfusion fork so I can't really compare but rockshox is more of a known quantity. However the polygons fork isn't boost spaced. If the mythique is 1499 and not on sale I'm going with the polygon but if it is on sale for 1199 I'm going with the mythique. Also, between shipping and taxes it can cost almost 100 additional dollars to get it to the USA. If I'm paying 1600 dollars for a mythique I would rather get a Siskiu T7 which comes with a dropper post and full sx eagle drive train. I hope this helps.
