@@mikecameron6667 I’m about to start a full fledged immature rant on why this statement is wrong, if you play the games, you realize master chief is a stoic, silent, respectful individual, the show brutally assassinated his character, the show turned him into a rebellious, talkative, shouty moron. But more on your statement, the reason we hate to see him without his helmet is because not only does it disrespect the character and everything he’s been for the past two decades, its also utterly useless and the “emotion” they try to portray is just him being whiny or angry, it’s not master chief. You don’t even need to read the novels to understand who he is, halo doesn’t always need to revolve around him, Halo 3 ODST displayed this perfectly, it made the player enjoy the fresh take on the halo universe and find interest in character not known in the games. The show could have gone with that route, but we got a politically correct, utterly garbage, non canon joke of a show. I’m never going to see it as Halo, it’s a fan fiction set in the halo universe the show writers want, not what’s established, I’m no longer giving paramount my money or attention, that’s one way to destroy my interest.

Seeing the halo show finally release, what a massive yike. Brian must have discovered a new despair when the show abandoned all the novels, lore, and everything else of substance. He really should have written it (after playing the games)
@BiomechanicalBrick2 жыл бұрын

@@BiomechanicalBrick the thing is that the helmet and extended suit are like a second skin, they’re even more basic to him then the clothes you wear, so of course he doesn’t take it off. Also, it pays off in Halo 2, because the covenant attacked during a ceremony where SGT Johnson told him to wear something nice. Also, of course he has weird Stockholm syndrome over the whole situation, he is one of the main reasons that the humans didn’t lose the war against the covenant, which would’ve spelled death for all sentient life in the entire fucking galaxy. If you were in that situation, you would probably excuse the horrible treatment because you would’ve been dead before retirement age anyways, along with everyone you know and love.

To add onto why the K-5 trilogy is so good; they're just fun reads. They detail some really cool concepts and sequences and all of the chatacters are actually quite well-done and distinct. Naomi, the Spartan, especially shines here; she's successfully depicted as deeply damaged and asocial owing to her upbringing while simultaneously forming very quick bonds with her military brethren, allowing for the relaxed interactions and occasional one-liners that made Spartans like Chief so personable in the first few Halo games. Basically she's not a shell, but rather a deeply damaged yet rounded out _person._

@@IronCow8 so the S-F drive is basically a slip space engine, which creates a wormhole a little bigger than the size of the ship so that the ship flies through it and it gets to i technically gets to its destination faster than Light. to put it even more simply the hyperspace drive from star wars, to put it even more simply, it makes ship go zoom zoom at almost instant speeds

I started re-reading the novels like 5 years ago and I'm ashamed to say I'm still like 1.3 books behind. I cannot IMAGINE trying to read all the books in a single year. Like... you would have no room left in your brain for anything else if you wanted to be able to process it all. (granted he skipped all the comics, but I forgive that easily)

As a guy that grew up on 'The Spectrum' with ADHD to boot and sperged on Halo my entire childhood, I know how this guy feels to my core and just wanna give him a warm hug and tell him I know his pain. Don't worry, Brian, I'll nerd out on Halo lore with you.
