Pond rebuild Sleeper pond with window (Part 7) The build begins, Concrete collar

Now the old pond is full dismantled the timber is in and its time to concrete the foundations for the sleepers, I'll show you exactly how I did it mixed by hand, I'm not a builder but its worked a treat. I also show you how I lay it.

Thanks bud yeh 2 bags of cement 5 sand and a days labour aint a massive amount of money and will add another 10 years to the life of the pond so why people dont do it baffles me 👍

Brilliant update my friend coming on nicely and the squirrel was probably looking for somewhere to burry his nuts 🤣I used a 3 to 1 mix but each to their own keep up the good work buddy

With all the rubbish everywhere at the minute i can't reach em all 🤣 plus they come back the next day i live right next to the woods in the summer i even take the hoover out there and suck up all the spiders 🤣

Looking great buddy the only thing that would concern me would the amount of concrete around the concrete might damage the new concrete when you try to remove it if that makes sense bruva 👍👍👍

Hi how thick have you made the concrete collar

It is 4-5 inches it's been down now for about 4 months and has had the sleepers onto for 2 months and has been smacked with a sledge hammer putting the rebar in and not a crack in sight 👍
