Charlie Puth and Wiz don't make it any better. If anything they wash the emotion off the tragedy
@Dumb_Killjoy4 жыл бұрын
@@BucketOfFuk I think it's both who sings it and how it was made. Wiz Khalifa takes the emotion out of his parts by simply being a terrible fit for this kind of song. On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have Charlie Puth, who has a nice voice and is a good choice in theory, but is too bland to be a good choice. On top of that, the fact that this song was written by Puth, who never knew Walker and just wrote the first version of this song just because it was his job, then put through a hypothetical meat grinder by a bunch of nameless producers, executives, and editors, takes what very little emotion was left in this song out. Basically, this song is terrible because nobody involved knew Walker and just wrote this for money. Tasteless

It's hard. Every time I revisit this song, I can see how much of a cash grab tribute it really was and its bland pop sound with a slap of rap on top of it didn't help. But it still gets me almost every time I play the chorus simply because literally right before the movie came out one of my friends was killed in a car crash. We were both still in high school and it just so happened that Walker died during the same time. The song brings me back to the moment where I remember how human we all are even if it sounds like every other industry-made song that makes it way to the top somehow.

In order to earn some money while in Seattle, the cast members had to film and edit an anti-"unaliving" (ugh) PSA that needed to feature the song "Jumper". That episode burned the song into my brain. It was then released as a single 7 months later and hasn't left radio since. So it too was used in a commercial, though it was advertising staying alive instead of a tablet.

I think this is a good song. It has emotion in it that most pop songs lack, and look, mumble rappers have done waaaaaaaaay worse than this.
@kieranstark72134 жыл бұрын
Well, you have a point. Mumble rap is the worst music genre of all time!

I can understand why the rest of the film seems so different. Paul died midway through filming. According to the director, a completely different ending was planned,but the real life events caused them to retcon the ending. That's why it's so different

Hey! What the hell do you have against the Rock, 2015 Todd? Don't you know that he'll give us the best song from Moana in a year or so?

Todd in the Shadows? No, Todd in the FAMILY.

Really good point about Ludacris. My only explanation is that Wiz Khalifa was cooler. I like Luda a whole lot more, but Wiz's name on your single guarantees downloads in 2017, while Luda isn't as popular with kids these days. Yes, the song would have been a hundred times realer with Luda on it instead. Art's dead

This song was played at my graduation, and I was so mad that they didn't play the Graduation Song by Vitamin C. Like, wtf

I dunno man, I think it blew up the same way most songs like this do and that’s simply because it’s so easy to connect when you suffer loss. One of my oldest friends died around this thing’s debut. It’s not about Paul Walker to me. Ironically enough, same thing with Puff’s tribute song. And Jumper. And for the record, overlay Jumper with a skateboarding commercial or free running and it hits the same as see you again and a car ad

Not sure if Todd is still interested in that P. Diddy funeral sendoff in light of recent events 😬

There’s a normal version of See you again just by Charlie Puth, and it actually works for a sad song

The thing that’s aged worst about this video is that you think it’s the last Fast and the Furious movie.

I actually cried listening to this song, mainly because the visuals of the tribute to Paul Walker, I admit, it loses value with Wiz and Charlie surrounded by Dodge's product line

I know this song from Big Hero 6 & it brought me to tears. "Tadashi is here." Also, side note: I was born in the 90's too.

You know, it's kinda funny: while Wiz Khalifka has released some material and stuff since this, he hasn't actually had another hit song or anything since this. Guess people got tired of him after this.

“It’s about seeing someone in the afterlife” OHHH I was really confused. I was thinking “how could you see them again if they’re dead?” I forgot about the concept of an afterlife...
