i also think another reason why nicki has been losing support is the fact that she has been consistently supporting sex offenders, and considering her fanbase largely consists of young women, it's hardly any wonder that they would be turned off by that

Can confirm as a former “Barb”. That also pretty directly explains why Tekashi hasn’t been “cancelled”. Unlike Nicki, he’s cultivated a community of people who don’t actually care about an artists character and reputation, the way she has. Nicki’s fans feel connected to her personally. So watching her take a big old doodoo on us by being all buddy-buddy with people who remind us of our own abusers has led a lot of us to withdraw our support 🙃

Also her own brother has been accused of sexually abusing his step daughter and that's been unjustly barely talked about in the press. Maybe she's been paying news outlets off to not talk about it, or they've been too preoccupied with Trump and the pandemic, I don't know. But she posted his bail and has been very supportive of him.

Macklemore was well-intentioned if nothing else, but in hindsight, I kinda get the vibe from him that some might've gotten from Arrested Development 20 years earlier - really more 'feel good' music that (WHITE) audiences saw as an escape from the rising trap scene of '12 and '13. The proof of that is in how despite radio pushes for two of his 2017 singles ("Glorious" & "Good Old Days"), those songs did not really go places.

Tekashi’s recent stuff is a definition of tryhard/faux edgy. The videos are so ludicrously provocative and raunchy it comes off as desperate, like there’s no faith in the actual song. And good reason too, because these songs are all plastic attitude. There’s nothing else to them. He’s Poochie. He’s some corporate idea of what “the kids” are into. It’s REALLY hard to cancel those with fanatical bases who don’t care or don’t hold their artists accountable. I don’t think Manson is a great comparison, though. For one, Manson was pretty smart where 6ix9ine clearly isn’t. For another, the former’s songs are decent for the most part, and sometimes good, while the latter isn’t. Finally, the whole Columbine outrage actually helped to cut down Manson (it was also blamed on Eminem, and other edgy dudes. Really, a better comparison would be Limp Bizkit, with him as the modern day Durst.

Also his genres of music isn't really popular in the mainstream anymore (at-least in the US). Plus his style had a noticable shift towards a less cathchy or hit-friendly lowkey rock, blues and post-punk inspired sound. I think the problem is not everyone holds the same standards. As much as I would love to this clown get thrown out for one conviction or another he's gotten already, people like the threatening tone too much for that. They are not going to help 'cancel' him, there just going to blast it even louder to p*ss off his "haters" and enjoy the show while it lasts. You can't effectually cancel people by just screaming how terrible they are. Especially when the artist leans into it. The best you can do is ignore it and don't let it bother you. I saw the same story play out with Chris Brown, and we're likely going to see the same here. Namely no one gets "cancelled" until their hour in the spotlight dies, and that only happens when they stop pleasing the fans or they move on to someone else. Which is why Mackle is no more and Iggy got thrown out radio instead of this trash. Don't dance and rap for the public well enough and you're getting thrown out of the same revolving door you entered.

"Robert De Niro played you just fine. But lately your casting's declined. Jared Leto came out looking like Takashi 6ix9ine." Edit: Woopsie, it was Jack Nicholson. I wondered why the first line didn't feel well timed in my head. Oh well, I'll leave my mark of shame up there.

@@doyouseeit5268 well i believe its because she as a major fanbase but lacks radio support/ support from the general public any a fanbase can only do this much for an artist :/ also her last album sold more than alot of artists lmao 180k units its alot and most albums actually hit #1 with that number of sales she just had a bad release date and got blocked oh well-
@cityboy2092
@cityboy2092 4 жыл бұрын
@@Joseph-iu4jd Her album only sold as many units as it did is because she tacked FEFE onto the ass end of it last minute, so all of the streams for that song counted for the album sales. Also, her last tour bombed so hard that she had to cancel the entire American leg due to extremely low ticket sales. She's clearly not in a good state professionally speaking and her stans trending some of her songs and sayings on Tik Tok and Twitter isn't really helping her career

Hate to point it out, but if she's losing fans among millennials and not amongst younger crowds... well, she's still losing fans overall. Also, outside of the US, her time of glory is clearly a thing of the past (and I had honestly never heard of the other guy before)

Maybe it’s because living with the pandemic in a borderline lawless state rn has me looking for reasons to be happy, but I gotta say Todd, 15:08-15:22 had me DYING of laughter. I can’t even REMEMBER the last time I laughed like this over something! Just, thank you, dude. At first I was annoyed you uploaded at midnight, but now I can see you did it because this song doesn't deserve more popularity than it already has and by uploading late, you willingly give yourself less views in trade for giving as little attention to this song as possible. thank you for your service, Todd.

I think the thing I hate most about this song is that in spite of myself, I still love hearing Nikki pull off a great verse, and in Trollz she has like multiple great verses. It remids me of Look at Me Now by Chris Brown, where in in this middle of this shitty awful Chris Brown song Busta Rhymes just shows up and effortlessly absolutely blows everything else right out of the water.
