The Alliance officer arresting him asked, "What are you smiling at?" Mal: "Never thought I'd see her fly again." i do a rewatch of this series about once a year, and right now i'm in the middle of one so when this video popped up in my subscriptions i said "okay no need to wait any longer, let's go ahead and binge all of cassie's reactions!" and so i have. man, this show really is one of the very best things ever. there won't ever be any more, but i'm fine with that, because what we got was so, so perfect. and oh my god, yes, no matter how many times i watch it, "out of gas" still guts me every time. so so so well done, every single moment.

You say this doesn't gain you the same amount of views, which might be true... but your firefly reacts are the reason I found your channel ! : )

"Out of Gas" is my hands-down favorite episode of Firefly. Which is not in any way a knock on any of the other episodes; the show continues getting stronger from here, but OoG is just *so* good. And it's always so much fun watching someone fall in love with these characters and stories.

That was priceless! Jayne and Cassie had the same facial expression when "The Hero of Canton" was sung.

Absolutely the best episode of the tragically aborted season. Out of Gas is a damn near perfect piece of television.

Yep. It’s not my favorite episode, but it’s the definitely the best. Such a well made episode (and show).

It's an episode that's just SO shiny. So fitting to every character, to how the whole crew interacts - really well written and I agree, near perfect viewing experience!

Watching your range of emotions, and how quickly they can change watching the show, brings back so many happy (and intense) memories of seeing this for the first time with my friends. Thank you for restoring some very heartwarming memories.

When you started off reacting to Firefly, I left you the comment that, "Out of Gas," and, "Ariel," are my two favorite, back-to-back episodes. I wish they had been back-to-back for this episode of @popcorninbed, but it just means being here for the next one. You started today with, "Jaynestown," saying it was the weakest episode so far? "Out of Gas," makes up for it 10 fold! I really love how much you are enjoying the show and cannot wait for you to make it through to the movie, "Serenity."

"I'm pointin' right at it" is a quote my wife uses on the regular with our kids and her students. "Out of Gas" is one of the best episodes of any show ever.

So glad you like Firefly. It's one of the best shows in tv history. Those who do not appreciate it doesn't know what they miss. Their loss.

Not sure if you recognized it, but Jayne (Jane?) was in Independence Day. He was the military guy at Area 51 that shoots the soda can off the alien craft. He’s been in a lot of movies all the way back to the 80’s.

"There's just people like me" .. goddamn a real moment for Jayne. That look in his eye goes to show how good Adam Baldwin is as an actor.

With firefly - The more we analyze an episode, the better it gets. There is so very much to say about Jaynestown.

Is Firefly actually unpopular? I watch every reaction I can find to this show.
@blinkybill21983 жыл бұрын
The network didn't care about it and so it didn't get the time slot or promotion it deserved.
@memphistim20013 жыл бұрын
It's kind of like Shawshank in that it hugely underappreciated when it came out but gets more popular with each passing year.
@itdano3 жыл бұрын
I meant unpopular as Cassie said. On KZbin. She said it gets the least views. That's surprising to me. I know all about the network and timeslot issues and how it didn't develop a real fan base until it was off the air.
@michaelw82622 жыл бұрын
@@itdano I think the fans have made their own Jayne Cobb, Hero of Canton-type legend out of Firefly's cancellation: that it was a mega-hit waiting to happen, and the evil executives decided to try to lose money by producing episodes and then making sure nobody could watch them. The intensity of the fan base makes it seem bigger than it really is.

Out of gas makes the best use of the 10th Main character that no one thinks about. Serenity herself is a huge part of what makes this show feel so heartfelt

This is my favorite episode. It gives you amazing backstory (I really liked Jane's bit) and shows you how much like family they are. The way it was told with the the flashbacks to two separate timelines was genius and kept the suspense up until the very end. When you're finished with Firefly and Serenity, you could check out Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles with Summer Glau and Lena Headey (Cersei from GoT) or try Dollhouse, another Joss Whedon show with Summer Glau and Eliza Dushku. It also has another favorite of mine, Dichen Lachman, but you can also see her in another amazing sci-fi show, Altered Carbon.

Love this episode. Has two plots that parallel perfectly both about stories that factually are not true but that people choose to tell themselves and hold onto that provide them with a basis for faith that helps them to go on through incredible hardships. Plus the Jane song is hilarious.

See I told you early Jayne would show his colors and loyalties. Cassie, you're quite the Kaylee in your reactions. I love how invested you've become so quickly. It's sad that the show only got the one season, but at least there's the movie too. This cast was just magic along with the writing. I think this series will stand the test of time and be a classic for years to come.
