I was 10 when this Unplugged came out. I was raised in a strict religious conservative household surrounded by ignorance and misogyny. Seeing Eddie write “PRO CHOICE” on his arm, on the biggest music show on tv at the time, when he could’ve written literally anything else, changed my life as a female. I have children that are nearly grown now, but I have never stopped fighting for women’s right to control their own bodies. Thank you Eddie, you may not know how much of an impact you had with that one little act, but it meant a lot to a lot of girls/women.

I was always jealous of his hair LOL. Glad I lived these times. One of the best bands in the history of music.

Finding musicians with such energy and passion is a rare thing in 2024
@Dopamint5 ай бұрын
Not really actually. There's just less spotlight on them now than back then. Energy and groove are note really regarded as a high valued commodity in the music world anymore.

I love that almost everyone has very similar comments.. Including myself.. We all recognized how Classic this show was and remember when MTV actually had REAL musicians AND DAVE just blows everyone's mind behind the kit...What a great little sliver of time we had for music bck in the late 80s to the early 90s.

Jeez, that drummer brings so much life to Pearl Jam's music

My goodness I miss music like this, with a message and pure passion behind it. I was so in love with Eddie! What happened to time?? It has gone too fast!

I watch this about once a year and it blows me away every single time. This Dave A performance is the most influential thing on me, as a drummer, ever.

in my honest opinion, simply the finest mtv unplugged performance of the 90's. If in any doubt then please seek out the entire set.

I remember watching this with my roomie on MTV Unplugged when it was aired. I was 20 years old, life was scarey yet exciting. Pearl Jam, along with a few others, became etched into my heart's soundtrack. Thank you for speaking the language of my soul, like a whistle only a dog can hear.

I recorded this on video tape from BBC2 way, way, way back, I had Nirvana Unplugged recorded on the same tape. Went out to a club one night a few years later, when I came home my younger brother happily informed me that he'd remembered to record Match of the Day for me. When I realised what tape he'd used I was heartbroken, I thought I'd lost this forever, thank you KZbin, thank you Pearl Jam

I bought the AIC unplugged on vinyl, and it sounds absolute amazing! I love to watch the concerts on youtube as well, but when I just listen to the music from some good speakers, I tend to get a lot deeper into the feels and atmosphere of the songs. I really hope that PJ will release this show in the same format. This concert really deserves it.
